Before resuming the inter-state transport services from April 14, proper measures should be taken to prevent spreading of CoVID-19 infection, requested Chief Minister in the letter
Extension discussions should be held regarding preventive measures required
Raipur, 6 April 2020.Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has written letter to Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi, requesting for proper preventive measures to be taken before resuming the inter-state transport services in the country so as to keep the situation under control. Chief Minister stated that before restarting the inter-state transport, preventive measures required should be extensively discussed and implemented.
Chief Minister stated in the letter to Prime Minister Mr. Modi that the nation is currently under the impact of the disaster of COVID-19. Chhattisgarh is one of the foremost states in the country, where on 18th March, after receiving the first patient of COVID-19, on 21st March 2020, complete lock down of the state was announced. As per your decision, the state is currently under complete lockdown up till 14th April. In the state of Chhattisgarh, samples were collected for a total of 1590 people in the state till 4th April 2020, out of which 1375 results were negative, 205 samples are undergoing investigation right now and 10 people were found to be suffering from COVID-19. Out of these 10 positive cases, 8 people have completely recovered and discharged from the hospital and the condition of the remaining 2 patients remains stable, stated Mr. Baghel. No one has died due to the COVID-19 virus, in the state so far and nor their is any case of serious infection with COVID-19. With the implementation of strict measures by the government and the help and support of disciplined people of the state, so far the situation is under control. But in other parts of the nation, the number of COVID-19 patients has been steadily increasing. As the testing for the COVID-19 virus will increase, the number of inflected are also likely to increase.
Chief Minister further stated in the letter that if after April 14th, trains, air traffic and inter-state road transport gets started in the country, then there are full possibilities that COVID-19 infected people can arrive from other states in the state of Chhattisgarh. The state may face new difficulties. Similarly, such conditions are likely to arise in other states also. Chief Minister has requested Prime Minister in the letter that such a comprehensive decision to initiate interstate traffic should be taken after extensive deliberation, so that the whole COVID-19 proliferation conditions in the nation can be kept under control.
