Chief Minister inaugurates Eco Learning Center Dudhwa and Eco tourist destination Kodar
To promote the tourism destination, Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel inaugurated the eco-learning center built on Dudhwa Dam in North Bastar Kanker and eco-tourism site built on Kodar reservoir in Mahasamund district. On this occasion, while congratulating the Forest Management Committee of the concerned area for developing a beautiful tourist area near the reservoir in the forest area, the Chief Minister said that this would also provide employment to the local people. He said that tourists will be able to attract and see the sight of nature at these places. The Chief Minister said that both these tourist places would certainly be successful in creating awareness about the environment along with giving information about wildlife and biodiversity to the general public.
In eco-tourist site Van Chetna Kendra Kodar, work worth Rs.39 lakh 14 thousand has been done and work of Rs.40 lakh is in progress. Presently, the development work of approach road upgradation, water supply system, scaffolding, tree house, nature trail, bird watching and motor boat facility is in progress. To entice the tourists, the facility of staying in the forest surroundings and organizing adventure camps is available here.
It is noteworthy that under the announcement made by Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel for tourism development under Ramvangaman Path in the archeologically built Sirpur in March 2021, Van Chetna Kendra Kodar has been developed as an eco-tourism destination. Van Chetna Kendra is located on National Highway 53 at a distance of 65 kms from Kodar capital Raipur, 17 kms from Mahasamund headquarter and 20 meters from Sirpur city. For the convenience of tourists, a wonderful amalgamation of adventure, entertainment, health benefits, culture, environmental awareness and development of local employment has been presented. The facilities of night camping, campfire and star gazing have been made available for the tourists to stay here. For entertainment, arrangements have been made for Volleyball, Net Cricket, Badminton, Carrom, Chess, Shooting. In addition, boating Arrangement of local Chhattisgarhi cuisine and delectable food is available for bamboo rafting and tourists’ refreshments. The relaxing experience of watching sunset, selfie zone and fishing can be enjoyed by tourists at the reservoir site surrounded by high hills. In this center, the facility of selling products made by Self Help Groups of the district and Sanjeevani products is also being developed. The Khallari Mata temple is located near the site, where tourists can also visit.
Minimal construction work has been done in this center of Eco Tourism Center situated in the lap of nature, funded by the convergence of District Mineral Trust Institute item, Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, MLA fund and Environment Forestry item of Forest Department. While maintaining the natural beauty of the forests, efforts are being made to communicate forest consciousness among the general public.
The Eco Learning Center located at Dudhwa Reservoir in Kanker district will be operated by the Forest Management Committee. This tourist place has been developed as a stronghold of the Chief Minister’s inspiration, Nava Kanker, where tourists can stay, eat and eat restaurants, The adventure is being started with two motor boats. Along with this, arrangements for trekking have also been made here. Training will also be given in this centre. This site will be developed as Eco Park. On the occasion of the inauguration of the center to the Chief Minister, Chairman of Forest Management Committee Shri Devchand Bhaskar told that tourists will be attracted by seeing the beauty of this place. With this we hope that people will get employment by opening the center. Shyam Netam, Sarpanch of Gram Panchayat Dudhwa said that this area has been developed so beautifully that it seems that we have come to Mini Goa. Shri Rajendra Yadav of Gram Panchayat Sunna told the Chief Minister that he had bought scooty worth Rs. 85 thousand by selling cow dung worth Rs. one lakh 57 thousand. With the savings, they are teaching their children. One of his children is studying in college and another child is studying in class 9th. Scooty has been bought for 85 thousand rupees.
