PM Shri Modi sought information from States’ CMs through Video Conferencing
Bhopal : April 3, 2020, The Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi while gathering information about the status of corona in the states through video conferencing today told the Chief Ministers that there is power in unity. All the Chief Ministers should combat Coronavirus with their full might by considering the disease bigger as compared to war. Shri Modi said that the fight is actually starting now. All states should be prepared for this. The Prime Minister said that people should not cross the Laxman Rekha and follow social distancing. He further said that Government of India is giving full support to the states in this direction. At the same time, the states’ own efforts are commendable. Prime Minister Shri Modi while welcoming the suggestions of the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s, praised the special steps taken to control the Coronavirus in Madhya Pradesh.
Innovative steps and initiave to prepare PPE Kits in Madhya Pradesh are praiseworyThe Prime Minister Shri Modi said that the initaive to make PPE kits and innovative steps taken in Madhya Pradesh for the protection from Corona are praiseworhty. During the Video Conferencing, the Chief Minister Shri Chouhan informed that the PPE Kit made in Madhya Pradesh has been approved by the Lab of Defense Research and Developmnet Organisation (DRDO) of the Government of India. With the approval of this sample, the number of two thousand kits which are now being prepared every day will become double. Shri Chouhan said that these PPE kits will be very useful for nurses, Asha workers, Usha workers, sanity workers, staff of urban bodies and police personnel, who are combating Coronavirus. In addition, handmade masks in Madhya Pradesh and 3-layer Gamchas in rural areas are being used and the prevention of Coronavirus is also possible by their use. The Prime Minister Shri Modi praised the innovative steps. Interacting with the Prime Minister Shri Modi, CM Shri Chouhan said that your strong willpower, commitment and passion to save the country is inspirational. Your guidance to the states will help in preventing corona infection. |
Deliberations on strategy adopted in Madhya Pradesh
The Chief Minister Shri Chouhan informed that a team of doctors is working constantly. Individual, who reaches the border line of infection, is kept in isolation after conducting the medical check up. Arrangement has been made to test infection by labs. One more lab is also being started, which will help in developing testing capacity in the state. Referring to Indore, the Chief Minister said that arrangement of the dedicated hospital has been made here for the prevention of corona infection. Bhopal too has the same arrangement. Hospitals have also been identified for other Divisional headquarters. The State and District level Control Rooms are functioning and drones are also being used as per the requirement. The social distancing and lockdown have been strictly implemented. Permission has been given for vehicles to make available the essential commodities. Help has been rendered in every district for meals and shelter arrangement for the labourers.
Use of alternative medicine
The Chief Minister Shri Chouhan told the Prime Minister Shri Modi that as an alternative medicine, AYUSH medicine is also being given to people in Madhya Pradesh. About 6 lakh people have been given the dose. Along with this, homeopathy medicine has also been given to 17 lakh 50 thousand people to increase the immunity. The Chief Minister also briefed the PM about the arrangements being made for harvesting and procurement of wheat in the state. Shri Chouhan said that a core committee of voluntary organizations and public representatives has also been formed. The Jan Abhiyan Parishad is being activated to handle Corona. A strong mechanism is being set up with the support of NCC and NSS workers as well as social activists at village level.
Steps taken to quarantine people
Moreover, Shri Chouhan told that the step has been taken to keep the people in quarantine, who have retuned to Madhya Pradesh after attending the Tableeghi Jamaat event. Constant efforts are being made for the prevention of Corona in Madhya Pradesh. As many as 31 thousand people have been quarantined in the state. Of these, 16 thousand have completed the quarantine period. Hotels and marriage gardens have been converted into quarantine sites. The identified people have been put under the surveillance. The movement of people has been stopped since the lockdown was implemented. Citizens are getting essential services. Full attention is being paid on social distancing and it is getting good support from the people. The Chief Secretary Shri Iqbal Singh Bains, Director General of Police Shri Vivek Johari and other officers were present at the video conference.
Chief Minister holds discussions with Officers
While deliberating with the officers after the video conferencing, the Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that meetings with the prominent people of different communities should be organised at State, District, Block and Police station level. Crisis management team comprising voluntary organisations should be activated at district level. By increasing the testing facilities and supply of medicines at treatment level we can control Corona in the state and Madhya Pradesh may become a model for overcoming this crisis.
