Raipur, 03 April 2020/State Government has decided to distribute lump sum stock of rice for April and May months to the ration card holder beneficiaries under Public Distribution System. As per this decision, distribution of food grains to 8110 fair price shops has been started. This distribution of food grains through fair price shops will benefit nearly 13 lakh 24 thousand 563 ration card holders.
According to the officials of Food Civil Supply and Consumer Protection Department, there are total 12,306 ration shops operational in the state. Till date, ration of two months have been stocked in 7011 shops and that of one month has been stocked in 11 thousand 407 shops. It is noteworthy that total number of ration card holders in Chhattisgarh is 65 lakh 39 thousand 184. This includes 13 lakh 95 thousand 635 ‘antyoday’ ration card holders, 42 lakh 6 thousand 423 ‘priority’ ration card holders, 38 thousand 302 ‘single destitute’ ration card holder, 6 thousand 163 ‘annapoorna’ ration card holders, 9 thousand 823 ‘disable’ ration card holders and 8 lakh 82 thousand 838 APL ration card holders.
