Raipur, 30 October 2021 : Agriculture and Water Resources Minister Ravindra Choubey visited the exhibition organized by various departments to showcase departmental schemes and programs on the occasion of National Tribal Dance and Rajyotsava at Science College ground today afternoon. Minister Shri Ravindra Choubey appreciated the effective presentation of departmental schemes and publicity material by the departments for the information of the general public and for this congratulated the officers and employees of all the departments of the state government. Minister Shri Ravindra Choubey said that the observation of the exhibition is a pleasant experience of the development of the state of Chhattisgarh. Together we are moving towards realizing the dream of new Chhattisgarh Garhbo.
Agriculture Minister Shri Choubey appreciated the efforts being made under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel to make agriculture prosperous in Chhattisgarh and promote agriculture and horticulture crops based on the climate of the state. He appreciated the performance of tea and coffee cultivation in Jashpur and Bastar districts in the exhibition of Horticulture Department and said that the farmers of Jashpur and Bastar regions are showing good interest in this effort of the state government.
The Agriculture Department’s Dome at the exhibition site remains the main attraction this year as well. There was a huge crowd in the live exhibition of horticulture amidst the exhibition of fisheries, animal husbandry, agriculture etc. The main product of each district was shown on the map of the state prepared keeping in view the agro-climatic zone of the state of Chhattisgarh. In the lively exhibition of horticulture, the cultivation of Makhana by making a small pond, Gravitational Drip Irrigation method from overhead tank, banana cultivation in mulching, different types of vegetables, different types of mango, mushroom production, dragon fruit etc. have been shown. The stall of the Department of Horticulture has a variety of plants, famous cashew nuts, mushrooms of Jashpur, processed products of horticulture like jams, pickles, sauces, Nectar etc. are available for sale at the stall. In the exhibition put up by the Water Resources Department, the works being done for the expansion of irrigation potential in the state have been displayed in the form of a model.
