Raipur: Chief Minister reviews the preparations for the National Tribal Dance Festival-Rajyotsava

Raipur, 24 October 2021.  The National Tribal Dance Festival will be inaugurated on October 28 in a grand ceremony at the Science College ground in the capital Raipur. The three-day long festival will see colorful performances by tribal dancers from across the country and abroad. 59 tribal dancers from 27 states and 6 union territories of the country, including dancers from 7 countries, are participating in the National Tribal Dance Festival. Around 1000 artists will be involved in these dance troupes, of which 63 will be foreign artists.

Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel reviewed the preparations for the National Tribal Dance Festival and Rajyotsava to be held at the Science College ground in Raipur, in a high-level meeting held at his residence office here today. He finalized the preparations being done at the venue, arrangements for lodging of tribal dance teams and guests coming from abroad and other states and union territories of the country, transportation arrangements, various programs to be organized for five days.

National Tribal Dance Festival will be organized from 28 October to 30 October at Science College Ground, on 31 October at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Auditorium, former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Late Smt. Indira Gandhi and former Deputy Prime Minister Late Shri Vallabhbhai Patel. Focused photo exhibition, seminar will be organized, documentary film on Smt. Indira Gandhi will be screened and Bhajan Sandhya will also be organized. State decoration ceremony will be organized on the state foundation day on November 1. In which 33 Alankaran Sammans will be given to the personalities doing excellent work in various fields.

In the opening ceremony, tribal dancers from Uganda, Uttar Pradesh, Palestine, Sikkim and Chhattisgarh will perform. The Nigerian team has reached New Delhi to attend this festival. This team will reach Raipur on 25 October. Dancers from different states and union territories will leave for Raipur on October 25 and 26 to participate in the dance festival. In the National Tribal Dance Festival, dancers from each state and union territory will perform in two forms of marriage ceremony and other traditional genres of their state. The total prize money of 20 lakh rupees to the dancers who placed first three places in both the disciplines, Certificate and trophy will be provided. The team securing first position in each discipline will be awarded with a prize money of Rs 5 lakh, the team securing second position will be awarded Rs 3 lakh and the team securing third position will be awarded Rs 2 lakh. This is the second event of the National Tribal Dance Festival. This event has gained a lot of popularity in the country and abroad. Dancers from Sri Lanka, Uzbekistan, Swaziland, Nigeria, Palestine, Male and Uganda will participate in the National Tribal Dance Festival being organized this year. A Moroccan contingent is also expected to attend the event. Cultural programs will be organized daily during the National Tribal Dance Festival, 20-20 tribal dancers will give their performances every day. During the festival, an exhibition centered on the lifestyle of tribals, tribal culture will be organized and a seminar will be organized. The exhibition will also have stalls from various departments. Stalls of handloom textiles and handicrafts will also be put up in the exhibition. Arrangements have been made for the stay of dancers coming from abroad and other states in various hotels and marriage halls of Raipur. About 3500 officers-employees of district administration, police administration and various departments have been deployed for the smooth conduct of the event and to oversee the arrangements. The venue of the National Tribal Dance Festival will have a Tribal Dance Area and Speaker Lounge as well as a Live Showcase Area, Tribal Inspired Exhibit, Shilp-Gram and Food-Area.

The meeting was attended by Tourism Minister Mr. Tamradhwaj Sahu, Forest Minister Mr. Mohammad Akbar, Culture Minister Mr. Amarjit Bhagat, Urban Administration Minister Dr. Shivkumar Dahria, Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Mr. Umesh Patel, Chief Secretary Mr. Amitabh Jain, Additional Chief Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. Subrata. Sahu, Principal Secretary Industries Shri Manoj Kumar Pingua, Secretary Culture and Tourism Department Shri Anbalgan P. Secretary Public Relations Shri Siddharth Komal Singh Pardeshi, Commissioner of Public Relations Shri Dipanshu Kabra, Inspector General of Police Shri Anand Chhabra, Director Culture Shri Vivek Acharya, Chhattisgarh Tourism Board Senior officers including Managing Director Shri Yashwant Kumar, Collector Raipur Shri Saurabh Kumar and Superintendent of Police Raipur Shri Prashant Agarwal were present.
