Raipur, 21 October 2021 : Chhattisgarh has been awarded ‘India Green Energy Award’ by the Indian Federation of Green Energy for the remarkable work being done in the field of biofuel. This award has been given to Chhattisgarh in the category of Biofuel Outstanding Renewable Energy Generation Project. In a program organized in New Delhi on Wednesday, Union Road and Transport Minister Shri Nitin Gadkari and Union Minister of State for New and Renewable Energy Shri Bhagwant Khuba presented India Green Energy Award Citation and Citation to Shri Sumit Sarkar, Chief Executive Officer of Chhattisgarh Biofuel Development Authority (CBDA), Raipur. Memento provided. Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel has congratulated and congratulated the Chhattisgarh Biofuel Development Authority for receiving the award.
It is noteworthy that the Government of Chhattisgarh is encouraging new alternatives to unconventional energy to reduce the dependence on conventional sources of energy. In this direction, remarkable work is being done by Chhattisgarh Biofuel Development Authority like establishment of ethanol production plant from surplus grain in the field of biofuel in the state, cooperation in the manufacture of bio-jet aviation fuel and research work in the field of biofuels.
The chief guest of the program, Shri Gadkari appreciated the work being done in the field of biofuel production from agricultural products and while stating the importance of biofuel in future, said that in view of the present circumstances, it is necessary for other donors to become energy donors.
In supporting partnership of Indian Federation of Green Energy, 2020, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Government of India, Sardar Sharan Singh National Institute of Bio-Energy and Association of State Road Transport Undertaking and Knowledge Partnership of CARE Rating in various areas of non-conventional energy such as That the nominations were invited for the award in Solar Energy, Biomass Biofuel etc. Out of the nominations received from all over India, a distinguished jury consisting of scientists from the Government of India’s scientific organization CSIR and representatives of the educational establishment IITs has selected for the award in each category.
