Raipur, 11 October 2021. Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel has said that according to the vision of self-supporting villages of the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi, now the villages of Chhattisgarh are becoming self-sufficient. Soon, by producing electricity from cow dung, now the villages of Chhattisgarh will become self-sufficient in the matter of electricity. He said that electricity generation from cow dung has been started from three Gauthans, one each in Raipur, Bemetara and Durg districts. An action plan is being prepared to extend it to all the Gauthans. Shri Baghel said that now Godhan Nyay Yojana will be operated in the state in mission mode.
The Chief Minister was addressing the program after online transfer of a total amount of Rs 7 crore 36 lakh to the cattle owners, cow dung collectors, as dividend in the account of women self-help groups and Gothan committees at his residence office here today. . On this occasion Agriculture Minister Shri Ravindra Choubey, Chief Secretary Shri Amitabh Jain, Additional Chief Secretary to Chief Minister Shri Subrata Sahu, Agriculture Production Commissioner Dr. Kamalpreet Singh, Secretary to Chief Minister Shri Siddharth Komal Singh Pardeshi, Special Secretary, Agriculture Department and Godhan Nyay Yojana. State Nodal Officer Dr. S. Bharathi Dasan was present.
In lieu of the cow dung purchased from September 16 to September 30, the Chief Minister deposited Rs. one crore 87 lakh in the account of cattle owners and dung collectors, Rs. 2 crore 14 lakh to women self-help groups and Rs. 3 crore to Gauthan committees as dividend. 35 lakh was transferred. In lieu of purchase of cow dung, after the launch of Godhan Nyay Yojana, a total amount of Rs. Out of this, an amount of Rs 25 crore 2 lakh has been paid to women self-help groups and Rs 37 crore 90 lakh to Gauthan committees. 84 thousand 469 landless people of the state are also getting benefited from Godhan Nyay Yojana.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that women self-help groups in Gauthans would no longer be limited to making vermi compost. Various employment oriented activities will be started in Gauthans with the help of state and central government schemes. Paddy crushing, oil crushing machines will be installed in Gauthans and enterprises of blacksmithing and shoe manufacturing will also be started. He said that making organic manure in cowsheds, production of vegetables, mushrooms from community gardens, fish farming, goat rearing, poultry, animal husbandry, dung lamp, pot, 09 thousand 211 self-help groups are involved in incense sticks manufacturing and other activities. More than 67 thousand members are getting income from these activities. The members of Self Help Groups have so far earned an income of Rs 43 crore 72 lakh from these activities. Along with making organic manure from cow dung, now self-help groups will also get income by making electricity. The electricity to be produced in the Gauthans will be purchased by the government. He said that Godhan Nyay Mission is being formed to operate in mission mode of Godhan Nyay Yojana. Under which the necessary infrastructure in the Gauthans will be constructed expeditiously. Measures will be taken to increase the income of farmers, livestock farmers, self-help groups and Gauthan committees. Agriculture Minister Shri Ravindra Choubey said that Godhan Nyay Yojana will now be operated in mission mode as per the instructions of the Chief Minister. Women self-help groups will no longer be limited to making vermi compost. Under the Rural Industrial Park scheme, various income-oriented activities will be identified and started in Gauthans. He said that Godhan Nyay Yojana is being appreciated at the national level. The amount of cow dung purchase is being paid every 15 days. The Agriculture Department was made the nodal department for the operation of this scheme. To give more impetus to this scheme, Chief Executive Officers of Zilla Panchayat will also be linked to it.
Agriculture Production Commissioner Dr. Kamalpreet Singh said in the program that under the Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana, custom processing centers would be started in 250 Gauthans, for which an amount of Rs. Oil, murrah, spice, pungent processing units will be set up. Similarly, 20 thousand rupees will be given to 2 thousand Gauthan committees for arranging various equipments. He said that an amount of Rs 50 lakh has been kept for green fodder development. Satellite hatcheries will be developed in selected tribal-dominated development blocks with an amount of Rs.3 crore. He informed that more than one lakh 81 thousand cattle farmers are getting benefited through Godhan Nyay Yojana. Approval of 10 thousand 501 Gauthans has been given in the state. Out of which 7 thousand 460 Gauthans have been made. So far 52 lakh 21 thousand quintals of cow dung has been purchased under Godhan Nyay Yojana.
