Raipur, 7 October 2021.Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and his cabinet colleagues, MPs and MLAs today reached Chandkhuri Temple by bus to offer prayers to Mata Kaushalya on the first day of Shardiya Navratri. On this occasion, everyone worshiped according to the law and after having darshan of Mata Kaushalya, wished for the happiness and prosperity of the people of the state.
It is worth mentioning here that Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel and his cabinet colleagues had reached the court of Mata Kaushalya by bus even on the occasion of laying the foundation stone for the renovation and beautification work of Mata Kaushalya’s temple. The ancient temple of Mata Kaushalya at Chandkhuri is situated in the middle of the pond. This temple has great recognition in the entire region. On the occasion of Navratri, a large number of devotees come to visit and worship the mother.
The development and beautification of Mata Kaushalya temple complex is being done by the Chhattisgarh government. This temple of Kaushalya Mata is included in the Ram Van Gaman tourism circuit. In order to keep the memories of Lord Shri Ram’s forest journey intact, Ram Van Gaman tourism circuit is being developed by Chhattisgarh Government at a cost of Rs.135 crore 55 lakh. This tourist circuit is of a total of 2260 kms from Sitamarhi Harchowka in Korea district to Ramaram of Sukma during the exile of Lord Shri Ram in Chhattisgarh. In this Ram Van Gaman tourism circuit, Mata Kaushalya temple located in Arang development block of Raipur is also included. The first phase of its renovation and development has been completed. Which was inaugurated by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on the first day of Navratri. Earlier, while addressing the inauguration ceremony, he said that Chhattisgarh which is called Dakshin Kausal, This holy land is the maternal uncle of Mata Kaushalya and the maternal grandmother of Lord Shri Ram. Lord Shri Ram has been created and settled in the mind of the people of Chhattisgarh. He is considered and worshiped by the people of Chhattisgarh as Bhancha Ram. It is the glory of Lord Shri Ram that people in Chhattisgarh consider Bhancha as Lord Ram and the age-old tradition of having feet as a mark of respect continues even today.
In Kaushalya Mata Mandir Chandkhuri, the memories of Lord Shri Ram’s journey to the forest have been carved very attractively. Here a 51 feet high statue of Lord Shri Ram has also been installed in the temple premises. The entire temple complex has started looking grand and attractive due to the development and beautification works done by the Chhattisgarh government here.
