Raipur: Tattooing craft will become a means of livelihood: Minister Guru Rudrakumar: Village Industries Minister participated in the conclusion of the training program

Raipur, 05 October 2021.Village Industries Minister Guru Rudra Kumar attended the closing ceremony of the training program organized at village Mohandi under Dhamdha block of Durg district today. A three-month training program in tattooing craft was organized for 20 women in village Mohadi from July 5 to October 4. During this training, all women craftsmen were provided scholarship at the rate of Rs. 1500 per month per craftsman. A State Awardee Instructor was appointed to train the craftsmen. On this occasion, Minister Guru Rudrakumar said that tattooing craft will become a means of livelihood for the people. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, village industries have become a means of livelihood for the villagers. The state government is making all possible efforts for the promotion and protection of crafts and artisans are being linked with employment. Minister Guru Rudrakumar honored all the craftsmen by giving certificates during the program
It is noteworthy that Chhattisgarh is a tribal dominated state. Tattooing is more common in the tribes of Surguja and Bastar region. By the way, tattooing is prevalent in almost all castes in Hinduism since time immemorial. This practice is associated with religious, cultural, social, scientific and historical facts. Tattooing craft is being engraved in the clothes by the Handicrafts Development Board. For which the art of craftsmen is being improved by giving training and direct employment is also being provided to them.
