Raipur: One villager killed by wild elephant: Three officers-employees of forest department suspended

Raipur, 29 September 2021. Taking prompt action in compliance with the instructions of the Forest and Climate Change Minister Mr. Mohammad Akbar, three departmental officers-employees under Forest Division Surajpur were suspended with immediate effect due to negligence in work Is. This action has been taken on the death of a villager there due to the crushing of a wild elephant. It is worth mentioning that a villager died due to being crushed by a wild elephant at around 12 o’clock on the night of 28 September in village Sarhari, Patrapara of Pratappur zone under Surajpur forest division. Due to negligence in work during the incident and inability to give proper explanation to the villagers, action has been taken to suspend the above three officers and employees. During the suspension period, the headquarters of the three officers-employees has been fixed at the Forest Division Office, Surajpur.
Forest and Climate Change Minister Mr. Mohammad Akbar has recently taken a review meeting and has given strict instructions to all the departmental staff to take the human-elephant conflict in the state seriously and without taking any carelessness, including reducing the human-elephant conflict. Make coordinated efforts for control and proper management. During this, he has also laid special emphasis on public awareness, publicity and education of villagers for companionship with wild elephants and exchange of measures to avoid conflict with them.
