Raipur. 25 September 2021. Chhattisgarh government will provide all possible help for the establishment of industries related to forest medicines in the state. For this, the government will provide raw material, land, labor and necessary infrastructure on priority. Addressing a conference organized by Indian Pharmacist Association, Chhattisgarh on the occasion of World Pharmacist Day at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium in Raipur, Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel said that there is abundance of herbal medicines in Chhattisgarh. Here 44 percent of the land area is forest area, where different types of forest medicines are found in abundance. He called upon the pharmacists to come forward to establish industries related to medicine and herbal medicine here. Health Minister Shri T.S. Singhdeo and Rajya Sabha MPs Smt. Chhaya Verma and Smt. Phoolodevi Netam also attended the conference.
Addressing the conference as the chief guest, Chief Minister Shri Baghel said that all the pharmaceutical manufacturers of the world are welcome in Chhattisgarh. The individuals or groups, whether from the state or outside the state, wanting to set up the pharmaceutical industry here, the government will provide them with all the necessary resources, facilities and exemptions. He said that raw material would be provided to the Vanaushadhi units to be set up in the state at the rates fixed by the Minor Forest Produce Association. The AYUSH and Health Department can directly buy locally produced medicines without any tender.
The Chief Minister said in the conference that pharmacists can play an important role in popularizing generic medicines. By increasing the use of generic medicines, treatment can be made available to the people at low cost. He wholeheartedly praised the contribution of pharmacists as well as doctors, nurses, technicians, village panchayats, urban bodies, public representatives, social and voluntary organizations and government officials and employees in the control and prevention of corona infection in the state. The Chief Minister said that in the difficult times of Kovid-19, important cooperation was received from all sections of the society. The entire state unitedly fought against Corona and won it.
Health Minister Shri T.S. Addressing the conference, Singhdeo said that Chhattisgarh is emerging as a ‘ Model State ‘ in the whole country . The whole country keeps an eye on the innovations and new initiatives happening here. Pharmacists along with doctors and other medical staff have also done a commendable job in the midst of dangers during the Corona period. Pharmacists have played a vital role in ensuring the continuous manufacture, access and distribution of medicines across the world during the fight against Corona. Amidst the dangers of infection, drug shops and pharmacists in medical premises were constantly ready to serve the people. Pharmacist is an essential link in ensuring access to life saving medicines to the people. Pharmacists have an important role in delivering health services through government and private medical institutions.
Shri Singhdeo said that Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has sympathetically considered the needs of the health sector. He has generously approved the set-up of new posts and new recruitments. Advertisements for recruitment to 187 posts of Pharmacists have also been issued. Pharmacists who did remarkable work in the conference were felicitated. The ‘ Pharmacist Book ‘ was also released by the Chief Minister and other guests . In the program, Chhattisgarh Hospital Board President Dr. Rakesh Gupta, Indian Pharmacist Association, Chhattisgarh President Dr. Vinod Kumar Verma, Association officials, Mrs. Rahul Verma, Vaibhav Shastri and Sandeep Chandrakar, along with a large number of pharmacists from across the state were also present.
