Raipur, 22 September 2021. The work of online registration and data collection and verification for the survey of other backward and economically weaker sections in the population of the state is being done by the Chhattisgarh government from last September 1, 2021. This work will continue till October 12. The commission constituted to collect quantifiable data by survey, held a meeting with various organizations and public representatives of backward classes at Bilaspur divisional headquarters and also took their suggestions by providing them detailed information regarding the survey.
It is worth mentioning that through an ordinance on September 4, 2019, the reservation of Other Backward Classes in the state was increased from 14 percent to 27 percent and a provision of 10 percent reservation was made for the economically weaker sections. While staying the implementation of these provisions by the High Court, the State Government has been directed to submit quantifiable data. In this context, the Quantifiable Data Commission has been constituted. Portal www.cgqdc.in mobile app has been prepared to collect quantifiable data by surveying Other Backward Classes and Economically Weaker Sections . Through this app people can join the survey by applying sitting at home.
In a meeting held in the prayer meeting room of the Irrigation Department in Bilaspur, the Chairman of the Commission, Mr. Chhabilal Patel said that it is the aim of the Commission to make available the correct data of these sections in the population of Chhattisgarh to the government. The application forms received through the app will be verified as per the data available in the food department’s ration card.
The Secretary of the Commission, Shri BC Sahu informed that the registration of the applicant’s data will be done according to the provisions given according to the circular issued by the Government of India on 31 January 2019 for the criteria of economically weaker sections. C.G. under Other Backward Classes in the State. The castes declared according to the eligibility issued by the Scheduled and Tribes Department on 10 August 2020 will be included. In this, some castes under Muslim religion have been included under Other Backward Classes. He said that the survey unit has been earmarked for Gram Panchayat in rural area and ward in urban area. Apart from the mobile app, applications can be submitted in the Public Service Center, Choice Center or Gram Panchayats.
