Raipur: Due to various diseases, people of Pando tribe have died

Raipur. 22 September 2021. In the Ramchandrapur block of Balrampur-Ramanujganj district, 20 people of the Pando tribe have died in the last six months due to various diseases . The Chief Medical and Health Officer of the district said that out of these , six elderly people in the age group of 60 to 80 years died due to prolonged suffering from paralysis and other diseases. Four due to liver diseases , three and pneumonia suffer from a heart attack is the death of two people. During this, another corona infected person has died due to shock due to excessive alcohol consumption.

The Chief Medical and Health Officer of Balrampur-Ramanujganj district said that most of the dead were provided treatment at the local Primary Health Center , Community Health Center , District Hospital and Ambikapur Medical College Hospital. Some of these patients died in hospital during treatment. The average death rate in India is 8.6 per thousand. The rate of these deaths in the area is almost within the national average range. On assessment, it was found that these tribes have a tendency to believe in quacks and quacks without taking medical advice , indifference in eating habits , excessive consumption of alcohol and not following medical advice. These can also be possible causes of death.

 

All health facilities have increased in the last two years. Under this, 24 sub-health centers and four primary health centers have been upgraded into health and wellness centres. Two health workers each have been posted in each sub-health centre. Rural health assistants / AYUSH doctors are also posted in primary health centers. Two 108- ambulance and three other ambulances are available in the area which is providing continuous service. Health camps and awareness campaigns are being conducted in all villages.

The Chief Medical and Health Officer said that an initiative has been taken to make a special card for the special backward tribe community , in which the information related to their health check-up will be maintained. The card will be able to know about their treatment and medicines given. Along with this, special health and public awareness camps are also being organized in all the Pando and hill Korwa dominated habitations of the district. After going door-to-door checking people, according to their physical problems, they are also giving free medicines. The administration and health staff have also included behavior change and cleanliness in their campaign prominently.
