Raipur: Two-day ‘commerce festival’ concludes in capital Raipur

Raipur, 22 September 2021. Under the joint aegis of Department of Commerce and Industry, Government of Chhattisgarh and Directorate General of Foreign Trade with Shailek Export Promotion Council, a two-day ‘commerce festival’ was held in the capital Raipur on 21 and 22 September 2021. The program was inaugurated by the Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel. In the inaugural function, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said that Chhattisgarh, rich in natural resources, can play an important role in the export scenario of the country and has immense potential in the field of commerce and industry. This commerce festival will prove to be effective in promoting exports in the state.
Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel also inaugurated the State Pavilion during this period. Where major exporters of the state displayed their products. Also, the booklet ‘Bamboo the Green Gold’ was released by him. On this occasion, Commerce and Industry Minister Shri Kawasi Lakhma said in his remarks that the economic upliftment of the local residents would be done by export and industrialization. This will lead to overall development of the state. Shri Vikas Choubey, Officer on Special Duty to the Government of India also presented his views during the program. Chief Secretary Shri Amitabh Jain informed about the progress of manufacturing and exports by the state in the last two decades. The role of industrial development in the all-round development of the state was highlighted by Shri Manoj Kumar Pingua, Principal Secretary, Commerce and Industry.
On the first day of the program ‘Chhattisgarh State in India An Emerging Economic Power’ session was organized. During this, various presentations were given and the possibilities of bamboo based industries and environment friendly techniques, establishment of nutraceutical industries and export prospects of various products from the state were informed and discussed with successful exporters. During this there was enthusiastic participation by the interested entrepreneurs and exporters.
On the second day of the program on 22nd September, Vice President Dr. Lal Hingorani Shefexil presented his views on creating an eco-system for exports. After this, during the exporter workshop, the import-export policy and export prospects were highlighted by Dr. Sudhakar Kastoor Investor Helpline Impex. Today’s highlight was the interactive open house session on the financial and regulatory hurdles being faced by the exporters and their solutions.
At the end of the program, Managing Director CSID Mr. P. Arun Prasad thanked all the dignitaries and participants and exporters for their participation in making this commerce festival a success and said that all the participants, exporters and interested investors present from this event are on the ground. Have become aware of the status of the level and various rules, policies related to exports. It also expressed hope that it would definitely give a boost to the exports of the state.
