Raipur, 14 September 2021. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has said that there is no dearth of sports talent in Chhattisgarh. International level players will be prepared in Chhattisgarh with good sports facilities, coaches and training facilities. On many occasions, the players of Chhattisgarh have brought laurels to the country and the state by excelling their sports skills in national and international level sports events. Mr. Baghel was addressing the program after inaugurating the world class badminton academy established in collaboration with Tata Trust at ITM University campus in Nava Raipur in a virtual program organized at his residence office here today. The program was presided over by the Sports and Youth Welfare Minister of Chhattisgarh, Shri Umesh Patel. Agriculture and Water Resources Minister Shri Ravindra Choubey was present on the occasion.
” The Raipur Center of Excellence in Badminton100 percent funding has been done by the Tata Trusts for the establishment of this academy, which started with the name. This is the latest and best badminton academy in central India. The operational cost will be borne by the ITM University Management, along with providing the required land for the Academy. The university management will also cooperate in the operation of the academy. Eight world class badminton courts have been built in the academy and seating arrangement has been made for more than 300 spectators. Hostel facility has been provided for players and coaches. The facilities of dietician, physiotherapist and counselor are also available in the academy for the players.
