Chitrasen Sahu, a resident of Balod, had a courtesy call on Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel at his residence office here this evening. Mr. Sahu presented the Tricolor to the Chief Minister on 23rd August last year after climbing the highest peak of the continent of Europe, Mount Elbrus (5642 m) with his artificial legs and hoisted the tricolor on the summit. Congratulating Mr. Chitrasen Sahu on this achievement, Chief Minister Mr. Baghel said that he has set an inspirational example for the youth by making his obstacles his power and has raised the value of Chhattisgarh with his indomitable spirit and passion.
Chief Minister Mr. Baghel was told by mountaineer Mr. Sahu that earlier he had also conquered Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa continent and Mount Kojiusco in Australia. He is the first Indian double amputee (both prosthetic legs) to scale the peaks of three continents. Sharing his future plans, Mr. Sahu told the Chief Minister that he aims to conquer seven high peaks of the seven continents, out of which he has achieved three and there are four peaks remaining, including Asia’s smallest Mt. Everest. He will then climb Mount Aconcagua in South America in December. Chief Minister Mr. Baghel wished him good luck for achieving his upcoming goal. On this occasion, Chairman of Chhattisgarh Home Construction Board, Kuldeep Juneja, social worker, Manmohan Agrawal and others were present.
