He said that malnutrition among children and anemia among adolescent girls, pregnant and lactating women is a serious problem. Poshan Abhiyaan is being operated from the year 2018 with the aim of bringing down the level of malnutrition and anemia significantly. Under this, National Nutrition Month is organized every year in the form of a mass movement for the awareness of nutrition and behavior change in the public. This year also ‘National Nutrition Month’ is being celebrated from 1st to 30th September.
He said that keeping in mind the corona transition, this year the National Nutrition Month will be celebrated as a physical and digital mass movement following the Kovid protocol. A theme has been set for each week in Poshan Maah. In the first week, tree plantation will be done at Anganwadi centres, schools, gram panchayats and other available community places to develop Poshan Vatika. In the second week, with the concept of Yoga and AYUSH for nutrition, yoga sessions will be organized for pregnant mothers, children and adolescent girls. In the third week, nutrition kits and other materials will be distributed to the beneficiaries of Anganwadi centers of High Burden districts. Severe malnutrition ( SAM) in the fourth week) Campaign will be launched for identification of children and distribution of nutritious food to them. Along with this, during the month of nutrition, nutritious vegetables, medicinal plants, fruit plants should be planted in home and community gardens, vacant lands, as well as in Anganwadi centers, school buildings, government buildings and in urban areas, for construction of nutrition gardens on the roofs of houses. will be encouraged.
