Raipur, 26 August 2021. Paying tribute to the social reformer and educationist Swami Atmanand on his death anniversary on August 27, Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel said that he awakened the spirit of human service and education in Chhattisgarh. He said that serving humanity is the biggest religion. Chhattisgarh was the ‘karmbhoomi’ of Swami Atmanand. He instilled moral values in the children of urban and tribal areas and awakened the spirit of service among the youth and spiritual growth in the elderly. He was deeply inspired by the thoughts and teachings of Swami Vivekananda’, which inspired him to dedicate his whole life in service of the downtrodden.
Following the footsteps of Swami Atmanand, State Government is making every possible effort for the education, health and employment of farmers, forest dwellers, poor and laborers. Special attention is being paid towards the socio-economic progress of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. The work done by Swami Atmanand ji in the field of human service is exemplary and inspiring. Swami Atmanand ji established a high level education center in Narayanpur Ashram for the upliftment of the forest dwellers. Taking inspiration from his contribution, state government has started establishing Swami Atmanand English Medium Schools across the state. In these schools, children from every section of society are being provided good education facilities including well-equipped classrooms, library, playground. Swami Atmanand had established the Abujhmad project to honor tribals and to provide fair price for their produce. He started Vanvasi Seva Kendra in Narayanpur to improve the condition of forest dwellers. Mr. Baghel said that ideals and life values of Swami Atmanand ji will always inspire people to service humanity.
