Raipur 23 August 2021. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel today inaugurated a new government college at Kumhari in Durg district through a virtual program organized at his residence office. The Chief Minister said that it is a matter of happiness for me to open the college in Kumhari and light the lamp of education. He said that it is the good fortune of all of us that together we are serving Chhattisgarh Mahtari. With the opening of this new college, the youth of nearby areas including Kumhari will no longer need to go to Durg-Bhilai, Ahirwara and Raipur to get higher education. In this college, facilities of study and teaching of all the three faculties of arts, science, commerce will be easily accessible. Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel announced the naming of this college, which was started in his assembly constituency, to be made in the name of Late Smt. Bindeshwari Baghel by the Minister-in-Charge of Durg district and Forest Minister Shri. He said that this is an emotional moment for me. He also congratulated and wished the youth of Kumhari zone on this occasion. The Chief Minister expressed hope that the principal and professors of this new college would pay special attention to the quality of education, so that young students studying here could bring laurels to the region.
Minister in-charge of Durg district and Forest Minister Mr. Mohammad Akbar said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, Chhattisgarh is progressing rapidly towards holistic development. He said that 172 Swami Atmanand English Medium Schools have been opened on the initiative of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel to provide free education in English medium to the children of poor families in the state. Colleges are also being opened in the state as per the need. He said that the Chhattisgarh government is engaged in making them financially empowered by providing assistance to farmers, villagers, tendu leaf collectors and landless agricultural laborers through various schemes. He said that the Chief Minister is of the view that to empower Chhattisgarh, all sections of the society should be socially, It is important to make them financially and educationally strong. On this occasion, Minister Shri Mohammad Akbar announced to name the new government college of Kumhari after the name of Late Smt. Bindeshwari Baghel, mother of Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel, which was welcomed by the crowd present. Kumhari Municipality President Shri Rajeshwar Sonkar also thanked Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on behalf of the people of Kumhari for the gift of the new college.
Higher Education Minister Shri Umesh Patel, who participated virtually in the program, said that it is a matter of happiness to start a new government college in Kumhari. He said that under the guidance of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, special attention is being paid to the quality and infrastructure of higher education in the state. He said that 85 colleges of the state have achieved good grading as of today. The quality of education and infrastructure is being developed rapidly to bring all the colleges of the state in good grading by the year 2022. Principal of the college Dr. Amrita Kasture presented the report on this occasion and said that art, There are 90-90 seats in the Faculty of Science and Commerce, on which admission is being given to the students. B.Com first year student Ramchandra Yadav thanked Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel for starting the college in Kumhari and said that due to this the students of the area would not need to go out. In the program, Vice-Chairman of Municipality Kumhari Shri K. Ravi Kumar, Chairman of Lok Nirman Samiti, Mr. Manharan Yadav, Mrs. Janaki Dhruv and other councilors and dignitaries were present.
