Raipur, 20 August 2021. On the occasion of the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Late Shri Rajiv Gandhi, the Chief Minister of the State Shri Bhupesh Baghel today inaugurated the newly constructed Shri Balaji Swami Trust Shri Dudhadhari Math Inter-State Bus Terminal Complex at Bhathagaon, Raipur at a cost of about Rs.49 crore. On this occasion, he dedicated 6 MLD to save the life-giving Kharun river water from pollution. Sewerage treatment plant was also inaugurated.
Addressing the program, Shri Bhupesh Baghel announced to give the same amount of land in Nava Raipur in lieu of 25 acres of land provided to Shri Balaji Swami Trust Shri Dudhadhari Math for the construction of this Inter-State Bus Terminal at Bhathagaon.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister honored the President of Shri Balaji Swami Trust Shri Dudhadhari Math and Shri Ramsunder Das, the Chairman of Chhattisgarh Gau Seva Aayog by wearing a shawl and took his blessings by touching his feet on the stage.
The Chief Minister expressed his gratitude to the Trust for the land given by him as well as for the works like health and education.
The Chief Minister said that today is a very important day. Today, along with online transfer of funds to the accounts of farmers and beneficiaries of Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana and Godhan Nyay Yojana, important works like multi-level parking complex, Swami Atmanand Shaheed Memorial School, Inter-State Bus Terminal and Sewage Treatment Plant etc. has been launched. The Chief Minister said that the bus stand, market, hospital, school-college, mall, development work of any city are its identity. In Raipur city also, many works like beautification of old pond and re-construction of Jawahar Market have given it a new identity. The construction of this inter-state bus terminal will help in streamlining the public bus transport in Raipur city and making it easy for the commuters.
The Chief Minister said that earlier only 59 children were studying in Swami Atmanand Shaheed Memorial School, now facilities like good classrooms, library, sports ground, good education are being provided here. Now the number of children in this school has increased to 700. He said that admission in these schools is not done by approach, but by merit. Schools like Sapre School, Dani School, Dr. JN Pandey School are also being developed in Raipur city.
On this occasion, Agriculture Minister and Minister in-charge of Raipur district, Shri Ravindra Choubey said that this land was given by the Math in 2007 to build a bus terminal, but work was done on it in 2017. Urban Administration Minister Dr. Shiv Kumar Dahria said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, all the development is happening in the state and the state has been rewarded for many works. Rajshri Mahant Ramsunder Das, Chairman of Chhattisgarh Gau Seva Commission and President of Shri Balaji Swami Trust Shri Dudhadhari Math, gave brief information about the history of the Math and said that he is happy that today the newly constructed bus stand was inaugurated by the Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel. Is. Mayor of Raipur Municipal Corporation, Mr. Ejaz Dhebar also congratulated the people of Raipur and Chhattisgarh for this historic moment and said that 40 percent of the city’s traffic was affected due to the old bus stand, now it will get rid of it.

Interstate Bus Terminal with many features
On the initiative of the Government of Chhattisgarh, the Bhathagaon Inter-State Bus Terminal has been constructed by the Chhattisgarh State Urban Development Authority of the Urban Administration and Development Department. 104 rooms are constructed in the four-storey building of this grand complex, in which office rooms, shops, transport offices, food courts, passenger waiting rooms, food stalls, women’s and men’s dormitories will be operated. Separate toilet rooms have been arranged in this complex for both male and female as well as third gender passengers. In this bus stand, the bus operators and businessmen of Pandri Bus Stand have been made accessible.
There are 14 bus bays built in this bus terminal, in which space is earmarked for 14 buses at a time. Five high speed lifts have been installed for the convenience of the passengers for commuting to different floors. Modern fire fighting system is installed for effective control of fire fighting accidents. Keeping in view the public safety and vigilance, CCTV of the entire campus has been installed. There will be surveillance through cameras and a separate barrack has been built for the police force.
Under the Public Information System, a public announcement system has also been arranged in the campus. Inter-state and long distance and short distance buses and city buses will be operated from the well-equipped inter-state bus stand. In the present odd circumstances of Corona, there will be movement of only 200 buses daily, but on normal days, about 900 buses will operate daily from this premises. A one-way route is prescribed for the arrival and departure of buses.
Under this, arrangements have been made for the arrival of buses by constructing a new road near the water treatment plant, the buses will be released from Bhathagaon Chowk road. Space is available for repair workshop etc. in the bus stand premises. Here the backwater of Bhathagaon’s filter plant will be used for washing vehicles to prevent wastage of water. Plantation has also been done here by Raipur Smart City Limited by marking the place for environmental protection.
Sewage treatment plant will be helpful in keeping the water of Kharoon river pollution free
To keep the water of Kharun, the life-giving river of Raipur pollution free, 6 MLD by Municipal Corporation, Raipur for the purification of the polluted water flowing in the drain flowing near Anicut located in Bhathagaon. Sewage treatment plant has been constructed.
This work plan has been completed by the Municipal Corporation, Raipur within 02 years by the Housing and Environment Department of Chhattisgarh Government with an amount of Rs.6 crore. This is a big step to save Kharun river from pollution. With the construction of the plant, now the contaminated water flowing in the drain will flow into the river after being treated. Every day 60 lakh liters of dirty water will be treated through the treatment plant. With the operation of this plant, there will be a qualitative improvement in the bio-ecosystem of the river and its balance will be maintained. Water testing laboratory has been set up in the plant premises for intensive monitoring of water quality, which includes Chemical Oxygen Demand, Biological Oxygen Demand, Total Suspended Solids, pH. There are facilities for important tests like value, fiscal coliform.
It is also worth mentioning that apart from this plant, 200 MLD costing Rs. 261 crore has been provided under the AMRUT Mission Scheme. The capacity of 3 sewage plants is under construction, with its completion, the water quality of Kharun river will increase if the sewage of 17 drains flowing under all 70 wards of Raipur Municipal Corporation area will be treated and sterilized and clean water flowing into Kharun.
