Raipur, 18 August 2021. Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel has said that the newly formed districts will come into existence soon. He said that officers would be appointed for the formation of new districts. Notification will be out, claim objection will be taken. He said that administrative units are being made smaller so that the administration reaches the common people. The distance between the public and the administration should be reduced, work should be tightened and the general public could get the benefits of the schemes faster. He said that now Chhattisgarh has 32 districts with the formation of four new districts including Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi district.

 

Chief Minister Mr. Baghel was addressing the citizens of newly formed Sakti district and Suhela tehsil of Balodabazar-Bhatapara district from his residence office here today. Citizens from the newly formed Sakti district greeted the Chief Minister with a gajmala and expressed their gratitude for the historic announcement. The citizens of the newly formed Suhela Tehsil also thanked the Chief Minister for the formation of the Tehsil. Citizens said that there is an atmosphere of immense happiness among the people of Chandrapur and Sakti area due to the formation of the new district. There was an age-old demand to make Sakti a district, which has now been fulfilled. He also thanked the Chief Minister for making Malkharoda as sub-division and Adbhar as new tehsil. The citizens also congratulated the Chief Minister on his birthday in advance and invited him to visit the district.

 

On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that the responsibility of implementation of the schemes of the government lies with the departmental officers and employees. But along with this, the public representatives should also actively work to get the benefits of the schemes to the general public. The state government is working towards providing maximum employment opportunities to the youth and women through the schemes. It is the effort of the state government that farmers should get a fair price for their crops and there are no lines of worry on their foreheads. Rajya Sabha MP Smt. The Chief Minister said that the farmers’ friendly programs of the State Government have increased the inclination of the people towards farming. The number of farmers has increased from 15 lakhs to 22 lakhs. Under the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana, input subsidy of Rs. 9 thousand is being given to paddy growers, Rs. 10,000 per acre for taking identified Kharif crop in lieu of paddy and Rs. 10,000 per acre for plantation for three years. Under the Universal Public Distribution System, 56 lakh families have been given 35 kg rice for one rupee per kg, 10 lakh families have been given rice at Rs 10 per kg, 39 lakh families have been given a subsidy of Rs 1822 crore under the Half Electricity Bill scheme.

The Chief Minister said that 10 to 15 lakh beneficiaries would get the benefit of Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Bhumiless Krishi Mazdoor Nyay Yojana. Under this scheme, landless agricultural laborers living in rural areas will be given an amount of Rs 6000 in a year. He said that about 14 lakh tendu patta collectors are being given remuneration amounting to Rs.4,000 per standard bag. Under Godhan Nyay Yojna, cow dung is being purchased at the rate of Rs. Apart from this, employment is being provided to women groups in manufacturing of vermi compost and super compost from cow dung. The cow rearing and dairy business is getting a boost in the state through the Godhan Nyay Yojana. He said that 2800 local youth would be recruited in Bastar Fighters Battalion. Similarly, 2500 more people of linemen and sub-engineers will be recruited in power companies.

The Chief Minister said that Chhattisgarh State Telghani Development Board, Chhattisgarh State Rajkar Development Board, Chhattisgarh Iron Crafts Development Board and Chhattisgarh State Leather Crafts Development Board are also being constituted. Through this, people engaged in traditional business will get modern equipment, Other facilities will be provided including providing goods cheaply and giving them space for their work. He said that in order to provide better transportation facilities to the people in the state, approval has been given for construction of bridges and culverts and roads worth Rs.16 thousand crore. Dharsa scheme has been started for the farmers to build roads till the fields. He said that forest produce is being purchased at support price to provide a source of income to the people in the forest dwelling areas. Earlier, where 7 minor forest produce were purchased on support price, it has now been increased to 52. While addressing the program, MLA Shri Ramkumar Yadav expressed his gratitude for the formation of the new district.
