Raipur, 11 August 2021. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said that Minimata has done remarkable work in the field of women upliftment, labor welfare and untouchability prevention. His contribution to the passage of the Prevention of Untouchability Bill in the Lok Sabha can never be forgotten. The egalitarian society he had dreamed of. That was really every Chhattisgarhi’s dream. According to their dreams, the Government of Chhattisgarh is constantly striving to build an egalitarian society free from exploitation, discrimination, atrocities. Mr. Baghel was addressing the program of ‘Minimata Memorial Day’ through video conferencing from his residence office today. The Chief Minister inaugurated the program by paying tribute to former MP Minimata. Urban Administration Minister Dr Shiv Kumar Dahria also participated in the program. The program was organized by Guru Ghasidas Sahitya and Cultural Academy.

 

The Chief Minister said that the personality of the first woman MP of Chhattisgarh Mamtamayi Minimata ji, her struggle and her contribution can never be forgotten. Our government is continuously working towards fulfilling the responsibilities that our ancestors, including Minimata, have entrusted us with for empowering the state of Chhattisgarh. The pain that Minimata had for the people of the state is the pain of the people. His dreams are the dreams of all of us. We all have to work together to eradicate the misery and pain of all sections of the society and build a good society. He said that Minimata had experienced poverty, displacement, He understood the pain of exploitation and oppression. She had also seen the atrocities of the British. The movements against exploitation and tyranny in those times also had an impact on them. Guru Agamdas was a Lok Sabha MP. After his death, Minimata became a member of the Lok Sabha. She was a member of the Lok Sabha from 1952 to 1972. After the beginning of political life, Minimata intensified the work of social upliftment. Tried to eradicate the evils and anomalies.
The Chief Minister said that Minimata wanted to see Chhattisgarh financially strong and strong, so that no laborer would have to leave his village for employment. Realizing their dreams, the state government worked relentlessly in the interest of farmers, laborers, laborers and the helpless during the Corona crisis and fought this calamity. Even during the Corona period, where there was an economic slowdown in the country, but in Chhattisgarh, from Bastar to Surguja, there was economic progress from village to village. There was no shortage of employment in the state. Apart from this, the work of providing financial help to the migrant workers who went to work in other states was done in the same state. Arrangements were made for trains and buses to bring the migrant workers to Chhattisgarh safely. Apart from arranging employment for them, arrangements were also made for their free treatment.
Urban Administration Minister Dr. Shivkumar Dahria while addressing the program said that after her marriage to Guru Agamdas of Satnami Samaj, Minimata started working continuously towards women upliftment, removal of untouchability. Minimata actively participated in the national movement, Dalit upliftment and social reform activities. Minimata’s contribution is inspiring for all of us, her contribution will never be forgotten. He said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, the State Government was following the path shown by Minimata and ancestors to fulfill their dreams. The President of Guru Ghasidas Sahitya and Sanskritik Akademi, Shri K. P. Khande, litterateur Dr. J. R. Soni, Mr. D. S. Patre, MIC member of Raipur Municipal Corporation Sundar Jogi and followers of Satnam Panth were present.
