Parmeshwar Rajak, a progressive farmer of village Saradhunwagaon of Charama development block of Kanker district, has done something similar with his dedication and hard work. M.Com. After doing this, Shri Parmeshwar Rajak started farming without wasting time. In the initial period, paddy was cultivated in the traditional way. Seeing that there is not much profit in this, Shri Parmeshwar started the cultivation of vegetables in a modern way and has started earning lakhs of income from it within a year. In the success of Shri Parmeshwar, the officials of Horticulture Department and the schemes of Chhattisgarh Government also became equally helpful.
Shree Parameshwara Rajak is cultivating barbatti, bitter gourd and lady’s finger in two and a half acres of land. In the first year itself, he has received an income of Rs.8 lakh. Farmer Parmeshwar Rajak sells vegetables every morning by taking them to Charama vegetable market. Vegetable vendors also buy vegetables from their place and take them away. The son of Shri Parmeshwar Rajak, who passed B.Sc in Horticulture, also helps him in vegetable cultivation, which has helped him a lot. Mr. Rajak says that by cultivating bitter gourd and barbatti in two acres during the summer season, he has earned about lakhs of rupees from it.
By taking advantage of the welfare schemes of the government, by cultivating vegetables in a modern way, Shri Parmeshwar has become financially self-sufficient and has now been able to provide employment to the needy people of his village. He has been provided free wire by the Horticulture Department for wire fencing on 2.5 acres of land and has received a grant of Rs 43 thousand for drip system. Shri Parmeshwar, who cultivates vegetables in a modern way, has also become a source of inspiration for the village and nearby farmers. Shri Parmeshwar Rajak says that whatever be the circumstances, if a person works hard with courage, courage and dedication, then success is definitely achieved.
