Raipur, 3 August 2021. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has said that cow service is not a slogan for us, it is our duty. The work of cow protection and promotion in Chhattisgarh is a part of the campaign to bring change in the lives of farmers. The state government has taken effective initiative in this direction through the construction of Narva, Garuwa, Ghurwa, Bari, Gauthans under Suraji Gaon Yojana and Godhan Nyay Yojana.
Chief Minister Shri Baghel was addressing the taking over program of the newly appointed office bearers of Chhattisgarh State Gauseva Commission through video conferencing from his residence office here today. In the program, Vice-Chairman of Gauseva Commission Shri Mannalal Yadav, Members Shri Atal Yadav, Shri Shekhar Tripathi, Shri Narendra Yadav, Shri Purushottam Sahu and Shri Prashant Mishra took charge. The Chief Minister congratulated and congratulated him on getting the new responsibility.
During the program, Agriculture Minister Shri Ravindra Choubey and Chairman of Chhattisgarh State Mineral Development Corporation Shri Girish Devangan at the Chief Minister’s residence and Minister for Fertilizers Shri Amarjit Bhagat, MLAs Shri Mohit Ram Kerketta and Smt. North Jangde, Chairman of Chhattisgarh State Gauseva Commission Mahant Shriram at the venue. Many public representatives including Sundar Das were present.
Addressing the program, Chief Minister Shri Baghel said that in the last two and a half years, remarkable work has been done in the direction of cow protection and promotion, which has become an example for the entire country. In the era of mechanization, the distance between agriculture and animal husbandry is increasing. The state government has tried to bridge this gap through steps like Suraji Gaon Yojana, Godhan Nyay Yojana and Roka-Chheka Abhiyan. People’s interest towards agriculture and animal husbandry has increased. Chhattisgarh is the first state in the country where cow dung is being procured for Rs.2 a kg. In this scheme farmers, It has opened a new source of income for the cattle rearers and women of self-help groups engaged in the production of vermi compost. This has given new life to the dairy business. In the Gauthans, arrangements have been made for fodder and water for the animals. Along with this, good care of the health of the animals is also being done here. There has been an awareness in the villages about the old tradition of Roka-Chheka. Animals roaming in the open are rarely seen. Congratulating the officers of the Commission and congratulating them, the Chief Minister said that they have been entrusted with the big responsibility of service of cows. He said that approval has been given in 10 thousand Gauthans in the state, out of which land has been reserved for about 5 thousand Gauthans for pasture. Out of these, about 3800 Gauthans fodder production is being done. The Chief Minister said that the work of providing fodder for cattle in Gauthans in summer should be done on priority basis. Arrangement to keep the fodder safe by making silage be done. Narva, Garuva, Ghurva, Bari and Godhan scheme will prove to be important in strengthening the rural economy of Chhattisgarh and increasing the fertility of the land.
