Raipur: Chief Minister distributed land acquisition compensation amount of Rs 22.78 crore to the affected farmers of Kalma barrage.

Raipur, 22 July 2021. Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel congratulated and congratulated all the farmers by distributing checks amounting to Rs 22.78 crore as land acquisition compensation to 314 farmers of Chandrapur area of ​​Janjgir-Champa district affected by Kalma barrage. This virtual program of compensation distribution was organized at the Chief Minister’s residence office today. Water Resources Minister Shri Ravindra Choubey, School Education Minister Dr. Premsai Singh Tekam, Chief Secretary Shri Amitabh Jain, Additional Chief Secretary to Chief Minister Shri Subrata Sahu were present in the program. Assembly Speaker Dr. Charandas Mahant, Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Mr. Jaisingh Agarwal, Parliamentary Secretary Mr. Vinod Seven Lal Chandrakar, MLA Mr. Ramkumar Yadav and other public representatives participated in this program through video conferencing.
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said that Kalma barrage has been constructed at a cost of Rs 377.42 crore on Mahanadi between village Kalma in Janjgir-Champa district and village Bargaon in Raigad district. Its construction was started in February 2011 and the barrage was completed in March 2016. The construction of the barrage affected 97.89 hectares of land belonging to 682 farmers of 13 villages in Janjgir-Champa district. He appreciated the efforts made by the district administration including Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Dr. Charandas Mahant, Water Resources Minister Shri Ravindra Choubey, MLA Shri Ramkumar Yadav for resolving the long pending compensation case of 314 farmers. Chief Minister Shri Baghel said that the betterment of farmers and to address their issues on priority is the priority of the Chhattisgarh government and the entire team of Chhattisgarh government is engaged in this work.

 

Vidhan Sabha Speaker Dr. Charandas Mahant thanked Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel for resolving pending land acquisition cases and disbursing compensation amount. He said that this issue of land acquisition was pending for years, which has been resolved by the Chhattisgarh government. Today farmers are getting compensation amount, it is a matter of happiness for all of us. Water Resources Minister Shri Ravindra Choubey said that mega lift irrigation project has been proposed by the Water Resources Department on both the banks of the barrage in compliance with the instructions of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel to provide water for irrigation to the farmers from this barrage. With this, water will be supplied to the farmers in more than 15 thousand hectares.
