Raipur, 8 July 2021. The first meeting of the task force constituted by the Chhattisgarh State Planning Commission on the development of higher education was held at Nava Raipur, the commission’s office. In the meeting, members of the task force and representatives of other departments presented their views and suggestions regarding the status and challenges of higher education in the state. In the meeting, Deputy Chairman of the State Planning Commission and Chairman of the Task Force, Shri Ajay Singh, while explaining the broad subject area of the Taskforce, suggested the formation of Working Groups for this. He also made it clear that other subject experts of the country and the state would also be included in the working groups. He asked the task force for long term and short term goals and solutions for the development of higher education.
Task Force member Shri M.K. Shridhar told the need for making a roadmap by determining the priority areas for the development of higher education in the state and suitable strategy for this. Other members of the task force, Prof. K. Ramachandran made a 10-year strategy and action plan for the development of higher education in the state and suggested reviewing it from time to time. Pro. Rajat Moona suggested the departments to adopt an interdisciplinary approach in the context of the new education policy. The members also gave suggestions on academic excellence, governing excellence in higher education, international exposure etc. It was decided in the meeting that soon a meeting would be organized by constituting working groups under the task force.
