Raipur 05 July 2021. Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel said that to cherish and preserve the memories of Lord Shri Ram’s visit to Chhattisgarh, Ram Van Gaman Tourism Circuit is being rapidly developed from North Koriya to Sukma in the Southern part of Chhattisgarh. Soon Ram Van Gaman tourism circuit of Chhattisgarh will emerge as a major center of attraction for the tourists across India and abroad. He said that Chhattisgarh has many beautiful natural sites and waterfalls along with various places of historical, archaeological, religious and cultural significance. All the necessary facilities should be developed in these tourism destinations for the convenience of tourists. This would establish a new identity of Chhattisgarh the field of tourism.
Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel was reviewing various schemes including the progress of the state government’s ambitious project Ram Van Gaman Tourism Circuit, at his residence office today. He said that there is huge potential for development of tourism in Chhattisgarh. He directed the officials to develop circuit of important tourist destinations of the state. He said that a water tank should be developed on Mahanadi River in Rajim. Arrangements should be made to maintain the water level in the river. In the meeting, Chief Minister reviewed the progress of 9 sites selected in the first phase of Ram Van Gaman Tourism Circuit Development. He also reviewed the ongoing Buddhist theme development work of Sirpur as a heritage site, Maa Bamleshwari Devi Temple Dongargarh, development of Pragyagiri site, and the development of tribal tourism circuit. Chief Minister directed the officials concerned to develop these tourist places in coordination with various departments. The meeting was attended by Tourism Minister Mr. Tamradhwaj Sahu, Chief Secretary Mr. Amitabh Jain, Additional Chief Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. Subrata Sahu, Principal Secretary Forest Mr. Manoj Kumar Pingua, Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. Siddharth Komal Singh Pardeshi, Tourism Secretary Mr. Anbalgan P. and Chhattisgarh Tourism Board Managing Director Mr. Yashwant Kumar.
In the meeting, Secretary Tourism gave presentation about the progress of Ram Van Gaman tourism circuit. He said that in the first phase of this scheme, 9 sites- Sitamarhi-Harchuka (Koriya), Ramgarh (Sarguja), Shivrinarayan-Kharaud (Janjgir-Champa), Turturiya (Balodabazar), Chandkhuri (Raipur), Sihawa-Saptrishi Ashram (Dhamtari) ), Ramaram (Sukma) were identified and are presently being developed. Development of Kaushilya Mata temple premise in Chandkhuri is being done in three phases, out of which 90 percent development work of Phase I and II has been completed. He informed that development work in Shivrinarayan is in progress. Here, the target is to complete the development work of the first phase by December 2021. As Ramgarh, Turturiya, Sihawa-Satparishi Ashram and Tirathgarh are located in forest region, work here is being done through the Forest Department. In this circuit, development works are being done in coordination with Revenue, Urban Administration and Development, Culture, Tourism, Water Resources and Forest Departments.
It was informed in the meeting that a concept plan worth Rs 62 crore 96 lakh has been prepared to develop Sirpur as a heritage site on Buddhist theme. Its development is proposed in three phases, mainly including three grand reception gates, parking signage, admin building, landscaping, 15 gazebo-pagodas, Buddhist theme park, pinching of stones and footpaths, cycle track, open air theater will be built around Raikera pond. 13 sites are being developed under Tribal Tourism Circuit at a cost of Rs.96 crore 10 lakh, out of which Ethnic Tourism Village at Jashpur, Road Facilitation Center at Kunkuri, Ethnic Tourist Destination Development at Kurdar Bilaspur, Ethnic Tourism Village at Saroda Dadar , Eco Ethnic Tourist Destination Development at Gangrel, Marg Facilitation Center at Nathianwagaon, Ethnic Tourist Destination Development at Kondagaon, Ethnic Tourist Destination Development at Jagdalpur and Eco Ethnic Tourist Destination Development at Chitrakot have been completed, while work of Tirathgarh, Mainpat and Kamleshwarpur, Eco Ethnic Tourist Destination Development and Road Facilitation Center at Maheshpur will be completed by the month of September.
For Adventure Sports, a water tourism facility is being developed at Satrenga in Korba at a cost of Rs 9.43 crore. Tourism Secretary informed that under the private investment scheme, there is a plan to develop Theme Amusement Park at Manatuta, Tourism Commercial Complex at Hotel Johar Chhattisgarh at Telibandha and Nature Care-Wellness Center at Saila Resort in Mainpat. He said that at present 10 students are pursuing online studies in B.Sc Hospitality and Hotel Administration and 38 students are pursuing Diploma in Food Production in the State Institute of Hotel Management, Nava Raipur. It was informed in the meeting that more than one lakh 68 thousand saplings have been planted in various places of Ram Van Gaman tourism circuit. 18 Biodiversity Parks are being developed at a cost of about Rs.36 crore. Some of these parks are being developed within 10 km radius of Ram Van Gaman Tourist Circuit, which will be the center of attraction for the tourists.
