Surajpur: Farmers are moving towards a better life by taking advantage of Saur Sujala Yojana

Surajpur / 04 July 2021 . Under the Saur Sujala Yojana, the state government is providing solar powered irrigation pumps to the farmers in Chhattisgarh so that they can do agriculture and irrigation on their land. There are many villages in Chhattisgarh where electricity has not been provided by the government even today, so Saur Sujala Yojana is like a boon for those farmers who need electricity for irrigation.

 

Collector Dr. Gaurav Kumar Singh has appealed to more and more farmers who live in remote places where there is trouble in agriculture , irrigation due to lack of electricity , they have to take advantage of this scheme. The main objective of Saur Sujala Yojana is to empower the farmers by providing them solar irrigation pumps at subsidized rates. This scheme is not only making the farmers more able to cultivate their land , but it is also helping in strengthening agriculture and rural development in the rural area under this scheme. Saur Sujala Yojana was started in 2016-17 . Under this scheme, the government is distributing solar powered irrigation pumps of 3 HP and 5 HP capacity respectively to the farmers.

 

Assistant Engineer of the Department of CREDA Mr. Sujit Srivastava said that under solar sujala plan Surajpur district by 2016-17 from 2019-20 to 3680 have been set up pumps which 70 are engaged in Gutan. He informed that the target of 1000 is set in 2020-21 , out of which 650 pumps have been installed and 350 are in progress. The scheme for all farmers who irrigate farms on the water source was unable to arrange any type ,This plan is proving effective for them. Through this scheme, poor farmers are moving towards a better life by improving their economic condition by irrigating their crops and getting more yield by getting easy availability of water. Beneficiary share 3 HP SC for the year 2020-21 , For Jnkjati 10 thousand , for OBC 15 thousand and for the general 20 thousand payable. 5 HP SC , 15 thousand for tribal , 21 thousand for backward class and 25 for general categorythousand rupees are payable. Apart from this, no additional amount will be payable from the beneficiaries.
