It is worth mentioning that in the last two and a half years, State Government has taken a number of steps to improve and enhance health services in rural areas of the state, but still the availability of specialist doctors in small district headquarters and block headquarters remains a challenge. Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has given instructions for expansion and strengthening of health infrastructure from capital city to rural areas, to ensure that the state is ready to deal with the changing nature of corona pandemic and to provide the best health services to people of the state.
Chief Minister has said that support and cooperation of private sector is important for the expansion of health infrastructure and for improvement in facilities of all the government hospitals, especially in rural areas. He has said that various types of grants and subsidies are being provided for establishment of industries in the state. This grant is also provisioned for the service sector industries. At present, there is no provision of any incentive for establishment of private sector hospitals by Health Department. Therefore, to strengthen the health infrastructure, grants and subsidies will be provisioned to encourage the private sector to set up hospitals in rural areas. Industries Department has been directed to submit an action plan in the context within 10 days.
