Chhattisgarh has once again been felicitated at national-level for the excellent works being done here under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MNREGS). Union Ministry of Rural Development has selected Chhattisgarh for seven awards for effective implementation of MNREGA. This includes three awards for states, one award each for districts and development blocks and two awards for gram panchayats.

Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Mr. TS Singhdeo has congratulated Ex-Additional Secretary of the Department and current Chief Secretary Mr. RP Mandal, Principal Secretary Mr. Subrat Sahu, MNREGA Commissioner Mr. TS Mahavar and all the officials-employees, panchayat representatives involved in effective implementation of MNREGA. Mr. Singhdeo especially congratulated Mungeli Collector and District Programme Officer (MNREGA) Mr. Sarveshwar Narendra Bhure, MNREGA Programme Officer in Pamgarh Janpad Panchayat Mr. Saurabh Shukla, Sarpanch of Gram Panchayat Podi Mrs Prema Bai, and Sarpanch of Dhotimatola Mrs. Vidya Ravte for this national-level recognition.

Union Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, Agriculture and Farmer Welfare Minister Mr. Narendra Singh Tomar will be giving away these awards at the award ceremony to be organized in New Delhi at National Agriculture Science Building on December 19. Chhattisgarh has secured second position in implementation of GEO-MNREGA Initiative, second rank in completion of works and second rank in the country in implementation of Good Governance Initiative. For effective implementation of MNREGA by a District Administration, Mungeli district has been selected. Under GEO-MNREGA initiative, Pamgarh block of Janjgir-Champa district has secured second rank in GIS Asset Supervision Implementation. Podi Gram Panchayat of Koriya district (Sonhat block) has secured second rank in the country for water harvesting structure construction, and Dhotimatola (Daundi block) of Balod district has secured third rank in implementation of MNREGA works.
