Raipur: Child Help Desk created to help Kovid affected parents and children in Chhattisgarh

Raipur, 09 June 2021.The care and protection of children needs special attention in the times of the COVID-19 pandemic. In this situation, it is necessary to get proper counseling and right support to remove the apprehensions of the mind of parents and children. In view of this, the Chhattisgarh Government has started a toll free special helpline number 1800-572-3969 by setting up a child helpdesk to help the children who are deprived of parents and guardians due to Kovid 19 and the parents who are unable to take care of such children. By contacting the helpline, every day from 8 am to 11 pm, correct information and proper counseling can be taken regarding the shelter, protection of children suffering from corona.

    Through this helpdesk operated by the Department of Women and Child Development, the fears including mental stress of the Kovid affected children and parents are being removed. Apart from this, child line 1098 and women helpline 181 can also be contacted. By sending a message on WhatsApp number 9301450180 and bahebcheimschpadam/humpsnbwu, through these helpdesks, correct information and proper counseling can be taken regarding the shelter, protection of children. Any needy child, parents, relatives, common citizens can help the needy children by contacting these numbers. Along with this, child care institutions-fit facilities have been identified in each district for better treatment and full necessary care of such children whose parents have died due to infection of Kovid-19 and children whose parents are infected with Kovid-19. which is accessible for child care.

    Officials said that the office bearers, staff, counselors working in child care institutions are being sensitized through dialogue program so that effective care of children can be done. All protocols are being followed in the state-run child care institutions to protect children from infection of Kovid-19. Complete arrangements have been made for thermometers, oximeters, masks, sanitizers etc. in all child care institutions. Contact numbers and helplines of the members of the District Child Protection Committee have been given in each hospital so that the children can get quick help.
