Raipur: Chief Secretary gave instructions to expedite corona vaccination: Third meeting of State Level Steering Committee constituted for corona vaccination, Chief Secretary asked all officers-employees to motivate people for vaccination

Raipur , 04 June 2021. The third meeting of the State Level Steering Committee constituted for the Kovid-19 vaccination program was held at Mantralaya (Mahanadi Bhawan) here today under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Shri Amitabh Jain. The Chief Secretary instructed to speed up the vaccination in the meeting. He has appealed to 3.5 lakh officers and employees of the state to become ambassadors in this campaign and motivate citizens to get vaccinated. Additional Chief Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. Subrata Sahu , Principal Secretary of Health Department Dr. Alok Shukla, Secretary of Labor Department Mr. Anbalagan P. , Secretary of Urban Administration Department Mrs. Alarmelmangai D. and State Nodal Officer for Corona Vaccination Dr. Priyanka Shukla also meeting. joined in.  

Chief Secretary Shri Jain took information about the progress of vaccination from the Chief Medical and Health Officers of all the districts in a meeting organized through video conferencing. He gave necessary instructions regarding giving the second dose on time to the people who had taken the first dose of vaccine against corona. Shri Jain said that after marking village wise and tehsil wise areas, ensure that people get second dose of vaccine.  

Dr. Alok Shukla, Principal Secretary, Health Department, told in the meeting that in Mahasamund , Dhamtari and Raigad districts, the first vaccination has been given to 100 percent people above 45 years of age. 77 percent people of this age group have been vaccinated across the state. State Nodal Officer for Corona Vaccination Dr. Priyanka Shukla said that 90 percent health workers have received the first dose and 67 percent have received the second dose. At the same time, 100% of the frontline workers have been given the first dose and 66 percent have been given the second dose. A total of 70 lakh 60 thousand vaccines have been administered so far across the state including the first and second doses. These include seven lakh 94 thousand youth in the age group of 18 to 44 years.
