Raipur, 4 May 2021. So far 13 lakh standard bags of tendu leaves have been collected in Chhattisgarh during the current year 2021, which is 78 percent of the target 16 lakh 71 thousand 700 standard bags. Of these, the total payable amount to the tendu patta collectors is more than Rs 520 crore. So far, maximum collection of 94 percent of the target has been completed in East Bhanupratappur forest division.
According to the information received from the State Minor Forest Produce Association, till now more than 90 percent of the target has been collected in 6 forest divisions East Bhanupratappur, Bijapur, West Bhanupratappur, Kawardha, Bilaspur and Kanker. Of these, up to 86 percent of tendu leaves have been collected under Kanker forest circle. Here, 60 percent forest-wise in South Kondagaon, 72 percent in Keshkal, 66 percent in Narayanpur, 94 percent in East Bhanupratappur, 93 percent in West Bhanupratappur and 90 percent in Kanker has been collected. Similarly, till now 82 percent of tendu leaves have been collected in Bijapur, Sukma, Dantewada and Jagdalpur forest divisions of Jagdalpur forest circle in the state.
81 percent of the Rajnandgaon, Khairagarh, Balod and Kawardha forest divisions under Vanvrit Durg and up to 81 percent of Tendu leaves have been collected in Dhamtari, Gariaband, Mahasamund and Balodabazar forest divisions under Raipur forest circle. Under Bilaspur forest circle, 81 percent in Bilaspur, Marwahi, Janjgir-Champa, Raigarh, Dharamjaygarh, Korba and Katghora forest divisions and under Surguja forest circle up to 63 percent in Jashpur, Manendragarh, Korea, Surguja, Balrampur and Surajpur, up to 63 percent of tendu leaves have been collected.
