Raipur, 31 May 2021. Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has said that Yoga is a simple, cheap and accessible medium, by adopting which we can protect ourselves from present and future threats. The Chief Minister said the above things while inaugurating state-wide virtual yoga practice and yoga counseling program through video conferencing on the occasion of International Smoking Day in his residence office here today. This program is organized by the Chhattisgarh Yoga Commission to discuss the effects of Kovid-19 in the general public including persons who have recovered from the treatment of Kovid-19, persons living in home isolation and quarantine, their family members, persons who have taken the first dose of the vaccine and senior citizens. It has been started with the aim of reducing and enhancing the immunity of the disease. Yoga’s free virtual classes will run for a year from May 31.

 

     The program was chaired by Social Welfare Minister and Chairperson of Chhattisgarh Yoga Commission, Smt. Anila Bhendia. On this occasion, Home Minister  Tamradhwaj Sahu, Additional Chief Secretary Home Shri Subrata Sahu, Secretary Social Welfare Department, Smt. Reena Baba Saheb Kangale were present in the Chief Minister’s residence. Director Social Welfare Shri P. Dayanand along with senior officials of Chhattisgarh Yoga Commission and Social Welfare Department, citizens from different districts, yoga instructors were also involved in this program virtually.

    On the occasion, Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel said that today is International Day of Smoking. At the core of celebrating this day is the concern of everyone’s health. Along with this, now the concern of the damage caused by the corona-virus has also been included. The first and second wave of corona have greatly damaged the health of all of us. Those who have survived the infection are also facing mental stress. Control of the second wave has been found, but the possibility of the third wave is also exposed. We also have to be physically and mentally prepared to face that third wave. During the second wave of Corona, we all saw that people whose immunity was weak, their lives were in danger.
    The Chief Minister said that Yoga is such a simple, inexpensive and accessible medium, by adopting which we can protect ourselves from the dangers of the present and the future. Keeping these things in mind, the government has decided to start a virtual yoga program from today. Through this program, the education of Yoga will be made available to the people. Those who have recovered from corona infection, those who are still in home quarantine, those who have taken the first dose of vaccine, those who are elderly, those who are concerned about their health, those who want to be drug free. Yes, all such people can take advantage of this virtual yoga program. From today, yoga classes will continue uninterrupted. These classes will be broadcast live on social media, along with their recording will also be available. Anyone, at any time, can take advantage of these classes. Zoom app, google meat, They can also be taken advantage of by connecting to these yoga classes live through Cisco Web X etc. Mr. Baghel said that people living in Chhattisgarh will be able to take advantage of these programs, those who live outside Chhattisgarh will also be able to take advantage of this through social platforms. He congratulated the Social Welfare Department and Chhattisgarh Yoga Commission for starting this program.

 Presiding over the program, Women and Child Development and Social Welfare Minister Smt. Anila Bhendia said that the trend of intoxication has become frightening globally. In such a situation, the general public can be kept away from intoxication by doing regular yoga exercises by yoga experts. Yoga has been an invaluable heritage of ancient Indian tradition and culture. Yoga keeps the mind, thoughts, and actions of people restrained. The origin of yoga is thousands of years old. At present, yoga practice is preferred by physicians. He said that yoga is knowledge based on spiritual discipline and very specific science, By establishing harmony between mind and body, it increases immunity and self-power. Yoga program will be conducted by yoga instructors and physiotherapists working under the department through this program lasting for the next 1 year. He called upon all the citizens of the state to join this great campaign.     
    On this occasion, the Chief Minister also discussed with senior citizen of Kanker Mr. Sanjay Kashi, Chhattisgarh Yoga Commission Physiotherapist Dr. Sharad Tiwari, Yoga instructor Mr. Pushkar Chaubey through video conferencing. A virtual demonstration of yoga practice was also performed on the occasion. Smt. Reena Baba Saheb Kangale, Secretary, Social Welfare Department, threw light on the outline of the program. Director, Social Welfare Shri P. Dayanand also gave detailed information about the program.
