This tendu leaf collection has been done by 12.09 lakh collectors, who will be disbursed Rs 512 crore collection remuneration. This figure of Tendu Leaves collection in the state is also significant because the collection of Tendu Leaves has decreased by 30-40 percent across the country due to Kovid epidemic and bad Tendu Leaves season. Chhattisgarh government is buying tendu leaves and other minor forest produce from the collectors despite the problem of corona period and weather. With this they are getting employment and getting income.
Collection of 4 lakh 24 thousand standard bags in Bastar division
This year, there has been continuous rainfall throughout the state, especially in Bastar division, in the month of May. Presently, due to the Yas cyclone, the northern regions of the state are receiving rainfall. Despite these adverse circumstances, 4,24,118 standard bags have been collected in Bastar division as on 28 May 2021, which is 84 percent of the target.
Acceptance of cash payment to collectors
Considering the situation of Corona, the state government has approved the cash payment for the collectors in the entire Bastar division so that they can get the amount of immediate remuneration. Collection of remuneration of Rs 170 crore is being paid in Bastar division from Tendupatta collection. Out of this, 40 percent amount has been paid.
It is also noteworthy that in the year 2020 Tendu Leaves season there was excessive rainfall, due to which the collection of Tendu Leaves was also affected. Despite the adverse circumstances, remuneration amounting to Rs 389.20 crores has been distributed to the collectors. During the Corona period, all other activities were almost closed. 11.76 lakh collectors were provided employment from Tendupatta.
Millions of people got employment, first place in the country in small forest produce
The State Government has also paid special attention to collection of Small Forest Produce along with Tendupatta. At a time when the state of Chhattisgarh has been battling the Corona epidemic for the last one year and the poor have no means of employment from village to cities, the state government has not only found the first place in the country by earning a record of minor forest produce. , But has also provided means of employment to about 6 lakh families.

The State Government has increased the Minimum Support Price of various minor forest produce by 15 to 30 percent, which also led to additional income of more than Rs 300 crores directly and indirectly to the collectors.
