Raipur: Justice will be given to innocent martyrs of Jhiram: Bhupesh Baghel: Chief Minister pays humble tribute to martyrs on ‘Jhiram Tribute Day’

Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel has said that justice will be provided to all the innocent martyrs and injured people of Jhiram, till they get justice, Chhattisgarh government will not sit quietly. We are committed to bring justice to the martyrs of Jhiram and we will continue our fight for it. No matter how many obstacles come in it, the Chhattisgarh government will definitely go to the bottom of the Jhiram Valley matter. The Chief Minister paid his humble tribute to the martyred leaders and soldiers in the Naxal attack on 25 May 2013 in Jhiram Valley on the occasion of ‘Jhiram Tribute Day’ at his residence office here today. Senior leaders of Chhattisgarh Shri Vidyacharan Shukla, Shri Nandkumar Patel, Shri Mahendra Karma, Shri Uday Mudaliar, Shri Yogendra Sharma and many leaders of the security forces were martyred in the Naxal attack of Jhiram Valley. Mr. Baghel garlanded the portrait of the martyrs and paid floral tributes to them. Tributes were paid to the martyrs by keeping a two-minute silence in their memory.

 

 

Chief Minister Shri Baghel participated in the program for the unveiling of the statue of martyr Shri Mahendra Karma in Dantewada and Jagdalpur through video conferencing. On this occasion, the hospital affiliated to the late Shri Baliram Kashyap Smriti Medical College, Bastar University and Dimrapal, Jagdalpur, was named after the martyr Shri Mahendra Karma. The program was attended by Minister of Industry and Commerce from Dantewada, Mr. Kavasi Lakhma, MLA Mrs. Devati Karma, Bastar MP Mr. Deepak Badge from Jagdalpur and MLA Mr. Rekhachandra Jain, Rajya Sabha MP Mr. P.L. through video conferencing. Members of the cabinet of Punia and Chhattisgarh, MLAs from different districts and public representatives were involved in this program. MLAs Mr. Mohan Markam and Mr. Brihaspati Singh, Advisers to the Chief Minister Mr. Vinod Verma and Mr. Rajesh Tiwari, Chief Secretary Mr. Amitabh Jain, Additional Chief Secretary Mr. Subrata Sahu were present at the Chief Minister’s residence.

 

 

On the occasion, the Chief Minister said that the violent incident of Jhiram Valley on 25th May has touched the hearts of all of us. This day is a dark day for Chhattisgarh, India and our democracy, when the Naxalites destroyed our entire leadership. Preparations for the Mahayagya of democracy were going on and before that, Purnahuti was killed. Our leaders, our companions and the state’s golden future, who had such leaders, our representatives, civilians and security personnel were martyred and many people were injured. Today, their martyrdom will be reverentially remembered in the subconscious of every person of the state.

Rajya Sabha MP Shri PL Punia said that the martyr Shri Mahendra Karma had a dream that Bastar should be Naxal-free and move forward on the path of development. He struggled a lot for this. It is a matter of happiness that the Government of Chhattisgarh is doing a very good work in this direction under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel. He specifically mentioned the works being done for distribution of Forest Rights Recognition Cards to forest dwellers, purchase of forest produce, Chief Minister Sucharnishan Abhiyan and providing medical and employment facilities in Bastar Zone. Commerce and Industry Minister Shri Kavasi Lakhma and Lok Sabha MP Shri Deepak Badge have named the hospital related to the unveiling of the statue of martyr Shri Mahendra Karma in Dantewada and Jagdalpur, Late Shri Baliram Kashyap Smriti Medical College, Bastar University and Dimrapal in Jagdalpur Thanked Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel for doing it in Karma’s name. MLA Mr. Mohan Markam said that the martyr Mr. Mahendra Karma was very popular among the people of Bastar. The Government of Chhattisgarh is making every effort for the development of the region by following the path laid by the late Shri Karma. Martyr Shri Mahendra Karma’s wife and MLA Smt. Devaki Karma paid tributes to the martyrs of Jhiram Valley in the program. MLA  Rekhachand Jain said that after naming the hospital associated with Bastar University and Medical College after the name of martyr Shri Mahendra Karma, the state government has made his memory permanent.
