Raipur, 16 May 2021. Urban Administration and Development Minister Dr. Shivkumar Dahria today performed virtual bhumi poojan of a warehouse of 10 thousand 800 metric ton capacity to be built by Chhattisgarh State Warehousing Corporation at a cost of about 6 crore 73 lakh rupees in Arang.
On this occasion, President of Chhattisgarh State Warehousing Corporation Mr. Arun Vora, Chairman of Nagar Palika Parishad Arang, Mr. Chandrashekhar Chandrakar and Mr. Komal Singh Sahu were involved in the video conferencing program. Minister Dr. Dahria said that the target is to complete this warehouse by April 2022, in which the procured rice can be stored for the coming season. After the completion of this scheme, about 200 to 300 local hammalis will be provided employment. Along with this, storage facility will be expanded in the area.
Shivkumar Dahria said on the occasion that arang is an agricultural area. The paddy produced by the farmers is purchased by the Chhattisgarh government at a support price. Due to lack of adequate storage facilities in the Arang for storage of acquired rice, transportation was carried out to remote warehouses. The government had to pay additional transportation expenses. With the construction of godown, the facility of storage of rice will be available in the Orange itself. The current warehouse in Arang has a capacity of 1800 MT. Chhattisgarh State Civil Supplies Corporation has given additional 10 thousand 800 metric tonne capacity requirement and 8 years commercial guarantee. The warehouse construction work is being done after obtaining approval from the 44th meeting of the Board of Directors. Land has been provided by the Government of Chhattisgarh for construction of godown and financial assistance loan has been obtained from Warehousing Infrastructure Fund of NABARD.
It is worth mentioning that under the construction of 10 thousand 800 metric tonne capacity godown in the branch, 6 godowns of 1800 metric ton capacity will be built according to scientific storage. Concrete roads will be built for the movement of vehicles in the campus and for the convenience of hammams in the campus, works of Himalayal Rest House, Public Toilets, Dharmakanta Establishment etc. will be done. For the safety of the premises, works like boundary wall, office building, watchman quarters, staff quarters, electrification etc. will be carried out simultaneously.
The Chhattisgarh State Warehousing Corporation has made steady progress since its formation, increasing its own storage capacity to an unprecedented. At present, in addition to the self-built capacity of 16 lakh 15 thousand 21 metric tons of Chhattisgarh State Warehousing Corporation, by providing a total storage capacity of 19 lakh 69 thousand 853 metric tons on the special demand of the depositor, with the capacity of renting 3 lakh 54 thousand 832 metric tons in the entire state, scientists Storage is being done.
