Accountability of Chief Executive Officer of District Panchayats has been fixed for timely payment
Raipur 29 August 2020. In Chhattisgarh, 97 percent fund transfer orders (FTOs) are being issued within the time limit for payment of wages to the workers engaged in MNREGA (Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme) works. Mahasamund district is at the forefront in issuing timely fund transfer orders for payment of wages in the state. So far this year, 99.39 percent fund transfer orders have been issued within the time limit. The national average for issuing fund transfer orders under MNREGA for payment of time wages is 94 percent.
Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Shri T.S. Singhdev is regularly monitoring the status of wage payments. At the beginning of the current financial year 2020-21, the department had instructed all district panchayats to mandatorily issue a second signed fund transfer order within eight days of the closure of the muster roll for 100% time-bound wage payment in MGNREGA works. At the same time, personal accountability of the Chief Executive Officer of the District Panchayats was fixed when the progress of payment of wages was reduced.
Mahasamund district is on top with 99.39 percent in the state in time-bound wage payment proceedings this year. Korba with 99.33 per cent, Surguja 98.86 per cent and Korea 98.68 per cent respectively stood second, third and fourth. 97.99 per cent in Kabirdham district, 97.91 in Dantewada, 97.89 in Balod, 97.82 in Janjgir-Champa, 97.82 in Rajnandgaon, 97.73 in Bilaspur, 97.71 in Surajpur, 97.63 in Bemetra, 97.53 in Raigad, 97.24 in Kanker and 97.06 in Mungeli Trans. Orders have been issued within the stipulated time frame.
96.79 percent in Balodabazar-Bhatapara district, 96.75 in Gariaband, 96.61 in Gourela-Pendra-Marwahi, 96.34 in Jashpur, 96.02 in Durg, 95.97 in Bijapur, 95.27 in Balrampur-Ramanujganj, 95.02 in Dhamtari, 94.81 in Raipur, 945 in Bastar. In Sukma 93.11, 88.34 in Narayanpur and 88.31 percent in Kondagaon, time-bound wages have been processed.
