69,783 metric tonnes of paddy has been procured in the state in four days,   25,493 farmers sold paddy

Raipur, 04 November 2022, According to the announcement of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, the campaign for procurement of paddy in the state has started from November 01. In the last four days, 69 thousand 783 metric tonnes of paddy has been purchased from farmers in the state on support price. Today, on November 4, 23 thousand 89 metric tonnes of paddy were purchased from the farmers. In lieu of paddy, a payment of Rs 283.07 crore has been released to the farmers under the bank linking system.
Officials of the Food Department said that today 8671 tokens were issued to the farmers selling paddy. In which 606 tokens were issued by Tuhar Haath App. On November 5, 12,577 tokens have been issued for paddy procurement in the state and 1,428 tokens have been issued through Tuhar Hath App. Paddy procurement continues uninterrupted in the state. Officials are continuously monitoring the arrangement of paddy. No complaint has been received from anywhere regarding the purchase of paddy.
Food Secretary Topeshwar Verma informed that the procurement of about 110 lakh metric paddy is estimated this year. 25.92 lakh farmers have been registered in the state for selling paddy on support price, out of which about 1.86 lakh are new farmers. 2497 procurement centers have been set up for the purchase of paddy on support price in the state. This year, normal paddy is being purchased from farmers at the rate of Rs 2040 per quintal and grade-A paddy at the rate of Rs 2060 per quintal.
