Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai today attended the closing ceremony of Late Dilip Singh Judev Memorial All India Gold Cup Football Competition in Jashpur. This competition was organized from 8 February to 23 February 2025 at Ranjita Stadium in Jashpur.
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai said in his address on this occasion that the state government is constantly making efforts to promote the players of the state in the field of sports. He said that players will be given prize money of Rs 3 crore for winning gold medal in Olympics, Rs 2 crore for silver medal and Rs 1 crore for bronze medal. He said that with the increasing enthusiasm of players towards sports and the support of the government, Chhattisgarh is moving towards becoming a sports hub. Announcing the renovation of Ranjita Stadium, he said that Ranjita Stadium will be developed as per international standards.
National level football teams from 16 states across the country participated in the competition. In the final match of the competition, teams from Railway Nagpur and MEG Bangalore faced each other. Chief Minister Shri Sai enjoyed the final match and congratulated the winning team. He praised the organizing committee for the successful organization and assured to make such events more grand in future. After a long gap of many years, it was an exciting experience for sports lovers to watch national level teams playing in Ranjita Stadium. Along with the city dwellers, a large number of spectators from the surrounding rural areas also came to enjoy this historic match.
On this occasion, Jashpur MLA Smt. Raimuni Bhagat, Vice President of Sarguja Area Tribal Development Authority and Pathalgaon MLA Smt. Gomti Sai, Municipal Council President Shri Arvind Bhagat, newly elected councilors, Shri Yash Pratap Singh Judeo, Shaurya Pratap Singh Judeo, Smt. Shanti Bhagat, councilors Faijan Sarwar, Om Prakash, Naresh Nande along with a large number of public representatives, players, coaches and sports lovers were present.
