Before the assembly elections in Chhattisgarh, Minister Ravindra Choubey has given a big statement. If Congress government is formed in the state then farmers will get Rs 3600. Will get the price of paddy per quintal. According to the thirty percent increase in MSP, the price of paddy received by farmers will reach Rs 3600 per quintal in the next tenure of the government. Farmers will start getting its benefits from next year.
According to Choubey, the farmers of the state will again form the Congress government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel. With the help of farmers, Congress will cross the figure of 75. The state government is already giving a subsidy of nine thousand rupees per quintal under the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana along with the support price. Because of this, the farmers of the state are getting a good price for paddy. This is how the price of paddy increased in the state.
Chhattisgarh government has announced to give paddy price of Rs 2800 this year. Which will be possible by increasing the MSP of the Central Government or by increasing the amount of Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana to the State Government. Till now the state government is purchasing paddy at Rs 2640. It has Rs 2040 support price and Rs 600 incentive.
This year the government has decided to buy 20 quintals of paddy per acre. For this, the government will have to increase the amount of Nyay Yojana from Rs 9,000 to Rs 12,340. The central government has increased the MSP of paddy by Rs 143 this year.
Due to this, the minimum support price in the session 2023-24 became Rs 2183. To give Rs 2800, the state government will have to pay bonus amount of Rs 617 per quintal. In the year 2014-15, the MSP of paddy was Rs 1360, which is continuously increasing. The central government has agreed to take 86 lakh tonnes of rice in the central pool. Politics on Choubey’s statement
After this claim of Ravindra Choubey, the politics of the state has heated up. In this matter, BJP says that Ravindra Choubey himself has made it clear from his statement that whatever price the farmers of Chhattisgarh get for paddy, they get it only because of the MSP (minimum support price) of the central government. .
BJP says that Choubey has also accepted that the central government has decided to buy 130 lakh metric tonnes of paddy rice from Chhattisgarh. That’s why the state government has also increased the target of paddy procurement. It is clear that the central government gives most of the money for the purchase of paddy in Chhattisgarh and the Congress is looting false laurels.
