The effects of the policy of development, trust and security of the Government of Chhattisgarh are now being seen in the sensitive and most sensitive villages of Bastar region. For years, the winds of development have started flowing in these villages, far away from the mainstream of development, due to which there has been a positive change in the life of the people. Development works are being carried out, due to which along with the development of basic facilities in the villages, the villagers have started getting employment in the village itself.
In Bijapur district, 26 thousand 184 works were approved and operated under MNREGA in the last four and a half years, due to which 77 lakh 22 thousand man-days of employment have been created. Due to this, employment has been provided to 02 lakh 54 thousand 378 workers of one lakh 19 thousand 306 families of the district, out of which the number of families who complete 100 days of employment is 29 thousand 500.
The reach of the administration was ensured in 19 highly sensitive gram panchayats of Bijapur district. In 2017-18, where the number of unreached villages was 40, today out of them employment-oriented works are being done in 19 gram panchayats. Madpal, Pitepal, Bechapal, Bangoli, Takilod, Chinger, Bail of Bhairamgarh block while Padamur, Pusnar, Palnar, Burji, Kamkanar, Pedakorma, Pujarikanker of Usoor block, Korsaguda, Chinnagelur, Pellampally, Tarrem and Bhopalpatnam of Bijapur block. Employment oriented works are being done in Panchayats under MNREGA.
During the lockdown due to Kovid-19 in the district, 78 thousand 479 workers of 32908 families were provided employment under MNREGA. By converging the amount of other schemes with MNREGA in the district, 21 check dam construction works costing Rs 15 crore 27 lakh have been approved. In which 17 check dams have been completed. At the same time, construction of 105 culverts has been approved at a cost of 7 crore 43 lakh 32 thousand. Out of which 87 culverts have been completed. 18 is under construction. For the construction of new panchayat building, 27 new panchayat buildings were approved at a cost of Rs.05 crore 39 lakh 57 thousand. Till now 07 Panchayat Bhawans have been completed. Work on 16 buildings is in progress. 538 pond construction works were approved in the district at a cost of 80 crore 54 lakh 67 thousand. 353 ponds have been completed. 185 is uninitialized. Construction of 282 Anganwadi buildings under MNREGA in the district at a cost of 23 crore 36 lakh 14 thousand were approved. Out of which 58 buildings have been completed. Work in progress in 150. In which 300 children of 5 panchayats are getting benefitted. At the same time, anemic women and malnourished children are being benefited under the Suposhan Abhiyan. 47 fair price shop cum godown construction works were approved in the district at a cost of 04 crore 83 lakh 33 thousand. So far 18 fair price shops have been completed. Remaining 29 works are in progress. Ration is being made easily available to 4 thousand people from 18 shops. work in progress. Under MNREGA, 140 canal construction works have been approved in the district at a cost of Rs 7 crore 11 lakh 22 thousand, out of which 98 canal construction works are being completed, farmers are getting ease in irrigation. Under MGNREGA, 2745 dubri construction works costing Rs 53 crore 18 lakh 25 thousand have been approved, out of which 1826 dubri construction works have been completed. As a result of the completion of these dubri construction works, the concerned farmers have got fisheries and irrigation facilities. Vegetable cultivation has been encouraged. Approval has been given for 337 well construction works costing Rs.09 crore 49 lakh 70 thousand under MNREGA in the district. In which 51 wells construction work has been completed, due to which drinking water and irrigation facilities have been made available.
