Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has written in the letter that in the National Family Health Survey 6 (2019-21) conducted under the aegis of the Ministry of Health, Government of India, it has been found that 88.2 percent families in urban areas of Chhattisgarh and 73.5 percent in rural areas Families are taking advantage of improved toilet facilities. In this way, 76.8 percent of the total families in the state are using improved toilet facilities and 23.2 percent are deprived of this facility. The physical verification of toilets during the socio-economic survey conducted by the state government last month confirms the data released by the National Family Health Survey-5. Chief Minister Mr. Baghel has further said in the letter that during the tenure of the previous government, more than 32 lakh toilets were constructed in the state and in January 2018, the entire state was declared ODF. An amount of more than Rs 4,000 crore was spent in the construction of toilets. Even after spending so much amount, about 15 lakh families of the state currently do not have the facility of advanced toilets, it is a matter of concern and investigation.
