200 species of birds found in the first survey in Kuno

[email protected]. About 200 species of birds have been found in the first bird survey in Kuno National Park. In the survey conducted in the park from November 22 to 24, 65 wildlife experts and nature lovers from across the country and more than 80 forest officer-employees took part. The results of the bird count will be released next week.

Divisional Forest Officer Shri Brijendra Shrivastava informed that 45 teams of about 150 people were formed and trained for the counting during the survey. These teams surveyed on 22 routes throughout the park. The Forest Department team consisted of officers and employees ranging from Chief Conservator of Forest to the Chowkidar level.

During the survey, State Bird Flycatcher, Parakeet, Nightjars, Warblers, Woodpecker, Kingfisher etc. along with five species of Vultures were found. Migratory birds have also started coming in the park.
