Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, on the occasion of his birthday today, transferred the first installment of Rs 2044 crore directly into the bank accounts of more than 5 lakh 11 thousand homeless families of Chhattisgarh state for building their own houses.

     More Housing-More Rights program was organized at the Indoor Stadium in Raipur, the capital, in the presence of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai and other ministers. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi participated in this program virtually. While transferring the first installment amount to the beneficiaries selected for housing construction, he congratulated and wished the beneficiaries.

    Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi said that the goal of his government has been to bring prosperity in the lives of the poor and weaker sections of the society. In 10 years, we have achieved tremendous success in achieving this goal. On this occasion, more than 23 thousand urban families were provided keys to their constructed houses, completion certificate of housing, door arch, puja material.

     The Chief Minister extended his heartfelt wishes to the people of the state on Vishwakarma Jayanti and on the birthday of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. He said that today has brought double happiness for the people of Chhattisgarh. On one hand it is the birthday of the Prime Minister and on the other hand the dream of housing for lakhs of people of the state is coming true. For this we express our heartfelt gratitude to the Prime Minister. We have welcomed the beneficiaries by washing their feet.

    Chief Minister Shri Sai said that food, clothing and shelter are the most basic needs of a common man, but even after several decades of independence, crores of citizens of the country do not have their own house. The dream of housing for homeless families is being fulfilled through the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.

    The Chief Minister further said that 32 lakh houses have been approved in the whole country, out of which about 30 percent houses have been given to Chhattisgarh. This is a big achievement for the state. After becoming the Chief Minister, the first thing we did was to approve 18 lakh PM houses. Today, the first installment has been transferred to the accounts of 5 lakh 11 thousand beneficiaries of Chhattisgarh state by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.

    The Chief Minister said that our government is working with full commitment towards the implementation of this scheme. Any kind of negligence and irregularity will not be tolerated in this. If there is a complaint of irregularity of even one rupee in the PM Awas Yojana, action will be taken directly against the Collector.

     The Chief Minister said that a pledge of cleanliness was also taken here. He appealed to the people to pay special attention to cleanliness and maintain cleanliness of their homes and surroundings including schools, hospitals and public places. He said that we have to include cleanliness in our habits.

    Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh said that today is the day to write the history of Chhattisgarh. A new light will come in the lives of the homeless people of Chhattisgarh. We have fulfilled the promise we made today. This is a big step towards social justice and harmony. He said that in the last 10 years, the central government has brought a big change in the lives of the poor by building 4 crore houses. Along with this, 3 crore new houses have been approved in Modi ji’s third term, which is making this scheme more effective.

    Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma said that another guarantee of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is going to be fulfilled. As soon as the government is formed, 25 thousand new houses are being built every month. One lakh 96 thousand houses have been completed. Apart from this, 24 thousand houses are also being built under the Prime Minister Janman Yojana. He told that so far 8 lakh 47 thousand houses have been allotted to Chhattisgarh from the central government, while 47 thousand houses are being built under the Chief Minister Housing Scheme. He said that this scheme is a big gift for the poor, due to which their standard of living is improving. The names of the people whose names have not come in the survey list in every village will also be added to the list now.

    Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai also released the technical guide based on Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and launched the Griha Portal. On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that this portal will help in making the housing scheme more effective and the beneficiaries will be able to construct their houses without any difficulty. On this occasion, the members of the cabinet including the Chief Minister and the Speaker of the Assembly also had lunch with the beneficiaries of the PM Awas Yojana.

    On this occasion, Food Minister Shri Dayaldas Baghel, Commerce and Industry Minister Shri Lakhan Lal Devangan, Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Laxmi Rajwade, Raipur MP Shri Brijmohan Agarwal, Mahasamund MP Smt. Roopkumari Chaudhary, MLA Shri Purandar Mishra, Shri Moti Lal Sahu, Padmashree Anuj Sharma, Shri Indrakumar Sahu and Shri Guru Khuswant Saheb were present.
