Payment of Rs 1109.39 crore to 1.66 lakh farmers

 1.19 lakh metric tonnes of paddy lifted for custom milling

The arrival of paddy is continuously increasing in the paddy procurement centers of Chhattisgarh. All arrangements have been made in all the paddy procurement centers to buy paddy from the farmers. Farmers are also being paid for their sold paddy in their accounts. According to the information received from the Food Department, 5 lakh 27 thousand 282 metric tonnes of paddy has been procured so far in the current paddy procurement season from November 1. About 1 lakh 65 thousand 367 farmers have sold paddy. In lieu of paddy, payment of Rs 1109.39 crore has been released to the farmers under the bank linking system. 

It may be noted that the state government has estimated procurement of 110 lakh metric tonnes of paddy this year. To sell paddy on support price, 25.92 lakh farmers have been registered in the state, out of which about 2.15 lakh are new farmers. 2497 procurement centers have been set up for paddy purchase in the state. Apart from this, permission has been given to open 28 new paddy purchase centers in different districts of the state. This year, normal paddy is being purchased from farmers at the rate of Rs 2040 per quintal and grade-A paddy at Rs 2060 per quintal.

 Food Department Secretary Mr. Topeshwar Verma said that today, on November 15, 92 thousand 153 metric tonnes of paddy was purchased from 28 thousand 491 farmers. For this, 34 thousand 754 tokens were issued to the farmers today. 4024 tokens were issued through Token Tunhar Haath App. For paddy procurement for the next day, 34 thousand 414 tokens have been issued for paddy procurement in the state and 4244 tokens have been issued through Tuhar Haath app. Paddy procurement is going on uninterrupted in the state. The officers are constantly monitoring the arrangement of paddy. Strict vigil is being maintained through check posts to prevent illegal transportation of paddy from border states. 

  Food Secretary Mr. Verma told that like last year, this year also under the guidance of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, along with paddy procurement, paddy is being lifted for custom milling. So far for the lifting of 3 lakh 59 thousand 372 metric tonnes of paddy, D.O. have been issued. In lieu of which 1 lakh 18 thousand 325 metric tonnes of paddy has been lifted from the procurement centres.
