On Tuesday, in Nava Raipur, Chhattisgarh, a soldier opened fire with his service rifle outside the battalion near PHQ. He fired about 12 rounds of bullets. However, there has been no loss of life during this period. On receiving the information, Rakhi police station and officers reached the spot.
According to the information, Rakesh Yadav, resident of Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh, is a soldier of CAF (Chhattisgarh Armed Force) 14th Battalion. There is a sentry duty in the canteen of his battalion. The battalion returned after completing duty there around 6 to 9 in the morning.
Alerted his comrades and started firing
It is being told that after returning from duty, he sat on the platform outside the battalion itself. Then he kept shouting for about 10 minutes and started firing indiscriminately, alerting his comrades. Suddenly hearing the sound of firing near the battalion, fellow soldiers ran to the spot.
The constable saved his life by raising the barrel of the gun.
During this time, a constable posted in the camp turned the barrel of the gun of the accused soldier upwards. Due to which a major accident was averted. At that time, 50 to 60 soldiers of the camp were engaged in their daily routine including tea and breakfast. Police have confiscated his INSAS rifle from the accused soldier.
